The Clinical Observation Of Liver Failure Treated With A Plasma Exchange Artificial Liver Support System

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of plasma exchange artificial liver support system in treating patients with liver failure.To investigate the methods of prevention and treatment of complications caused by plasma exchange in treating liver failure patients.To observe the relations between prognoses of plasma exchange and complications of liver failure.To evaluate the prognoses of different liver failure who were patients.Methods:On the base of routine medical treatment, 124 patients with liver failure were treated with plasma exchange. Before and after treatment, the clinical symptom, liver function tests and prothrombin time activity were examined. Patients with subacute liver failure and acute-on-chronic liver failure were divided into two stages by diagnostic standard: early stage, intermediate and late stage, then we evaluate the prognoses of the two stages.Results:124 patients were treated by plasma exchange for 223 times, patients after plasma exchange had a significant improvement in clinical symptoms. The improving rate was 59.7% (74/124) .The level of total serum bilirubin and prothrombin time activity were obviously lower after the plasma exchange treatment (P<0.01). The level of albumin had no significant different after the plasma exchange (P>0.05). No severe complication was found. Among early stage , intermediate and late stage there was remarkably different prognosis(P<0.001). The more severe the complication is, the worse curative effect is.Conclusions:â‘ Plasma exchange is more effective than the routine medicinal liver care treatment, can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms, improve liver function and is an effective treatment for patients with liver failure, has the effect of removing the toxic elements in the circulation and wins the opportunity for hepatic regeneration.â‘¡Plasma exchange treatment is more effective in early stage of liver failure, but not in its late stage. So to accept the plasma exchange treatment need choosing the patient, then the plasma exchange effect will be great enhanced.â‘¢Plasma exchange treatment is security and effective. It is worthwhile to be spread in clinical practice.
