| Background and objectiveTo evaluate the measurement of urine concentration and alpha-L-fucus glycosidase(AFU) in predicting outcome of acute paraquat poisoning and provide reference for clinical treatment of acute paraquat.MethodsThere were 255 cases of acute paraquat poisoning whose clinical date were analysed retrospectively. Recording the urine concentration and serum AFU concentration of paraquat. Receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve was used for analyzing its value in prognosis evaluation.ResultsDeaths from acute paraquat poisoning patients dosage, concentration of paraquat in urine and serum AFU were higher than in survival group,(Z were 12.573, 12.786 and 12.573, P<0.001). Urine concentration of paraquat and AFU can be used in the evaluation of the prognosis of patients with paraquat poisoning, but the former is more valuable, the area under the ROC curve and 95% CI were 0.976(0.961-0.991) and 0.630(0.550-0.710).ConclusionsUrine concentration of paraquat has a higher predictive ability than AFU in the prognosis of patients with acute paraquat poisoning, which is more helpful in treatment options, illness observation and evaluation of curative effect. |
