With the rapid development of science and technology, water pollution caused byindustrial production is worse than ever in the past, and have become a threat tohuman survival, water quality monitoring has pay an more and more important role inmodern society. But, current water quality monitoring technology still has someshortcomings, Such as, a lot of water quality monitoring instruments use chemicalmethods, apparatus bulky, with long measuring cycle. There is the added reagentsecondary pollution existing, which is not suitable for on-site continuous onlinemonitoring. Automatic monitoring stations are usually limited by total number ofinstruments, complex supply environment and limited monitoring scope.In order to solve the water quality monitoring of innovative technology, this paperdeveloped a photovoltaic UV water quality monitoring system. The system includessolar photovoltaic power systems, UV automatic water quality monitoring system,wireless transmission systems and PC monitor terminal.It is known that photovoltaic system is one of the cleanest, most practicable, mostpromising resource. Solar photovoltaic power system solves the power supplyproblems of on-site monitoring. It provides a convenient power for those areaswithout suitable mains-powered monitoring. UV automatic water quality monitoringinstrument is in virtue of rod-like structure, open-flow cell, small size, no samplingwith pips and valves, and in situ monitoring. You can quickly achieve COD, nitratenitrogen and other multiple parameters of long-term automatic monitoring. Wirelesstransmission systems and PC monitor terminal achieve remote monitoring of waterquality parameters, which greatly improves the environmental regulatory efforts. It istruly achieved in the manner of green, convenient, real-time and automation.COD and nitrate nitrogen are parametric representations of experimental researchcomponent. Potassium hydrogen phthalate solution and potassium nitrate solution areused for the modeling experiment of COD and nitrate nitrogen. Quality indicators ofthe instrument were tested, such as the luminosity accuracy, the wavelength accuracy.Finally, we carried out some long-term automatic monitoring experiment for theactual water and obtained COD, nitrate trend chart. The thesis presents creatively solar photovoltaic power supply method in the fieldof water quality monitoring. The system has a long automatic water qualitymonitoring capacity. It reduces the laying of cables, resolves some complicatedproblems and further expands the area of water quality monitoring. It is like to bewidely used in rivers, lakes, oceans and other water bodies for in situ real-timemonitoring.
