Objectives This research mainly aimed at summarizing980nm diode laser vaporizationin treatment of BPH, and comparing with TURP to evaluate the efficacy and safety, what’smore, providing scientific basis for clinical application. Methods This project study BPH hospitalized from April2012to April2013in Hebeiunited university affiliated hospital urology and underwent980nm diode laser vaporizationor TURP, divided into two groups randomly,87cases of them underwent980nm diodelaser vaporization and81cases for TURP. These markers results were recorded andanalyzed, which includes such as operative time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperativecomplications, international prostate symptom score (IPSS), quality of life (QOL),maximum flow rate (Qmax) and post-voiding residual urinary volume (PVR). Data wereanalyzed statistically to compare between the two groups. Results The differences were no significant between the two groups (P>0.05), whichincluded age, course of the disease, prostate volume, PVR, Qmax, IPSS, QOL, sodium, hemoglobin. The mean time of operation for980nm diode laser vaporization was morethan that for TURP. The differences were significant between the two groups (P<0.05).The blood loss in operation, the time of bladder irrigating after operation, the timeof catheterization and hospital stay after surgical therapy in980nm diode laser groupswere all less than that in TURP groups. The differences were significant between the twogroups (P<0.01).The complications in980nm diode laser groups such as secondaryhemorrhage and TURS were less than that in TURP groups. The differences weresignificant between the two groups (P<0.05).There was a significant difference in twogroups of patients compared with preoperative and postoperative. The differences weresignificant between the two groups (P<0.01).Compared two groups of patients withpostoperative curative effect comparison, the differences were no significant (P>0.05),which proved postoperative effect of the same.Conclusions980nm semiconductor red laser vaporization of the prostate cansignificantly improve the patient’s lower urinary tract obstruction symptoms, whichshowed similar near future effect with TURP. Compared with TURP, the former werebetter in operation, less bleeding, postoperative indwelling catheter time and shorterhospitalization time, rapid postoperative recovery and other advantages, suggesting that itis a safe and effective minimally invasive operation in BPH treatment.
