Objective To evaluate safety and effectiveness by percutaneous kyphoplasty(PKP) combined with125I in patients with the metastatic spinal tumors.Method Were retrospectively analyzed in March2011to July2012, Idivision underwent vertebral plasty of60patients with spinal metastases, one ofthe protruding after percutaneous vertebral plasty combined125I radioactiveparticles into the treatment group30cases, single application of percutaneousballoon expansion of the protruding after vertebral plasty treatment group30cases.Collect the patient’s symptoms, signs, imaging findings, both before treatment inpatients with intractable back pain, CT suggesting the vertebral body bonedestruction. Groups, respectively, using visual analog score, WHO pain relief, dysfunction index to assess the clinical outcome after treatment and neuralfunction recovery, vertebral height measurement disease changes. Follow-up timeis1day,1month after treatment and6months. Comparison of the protruding afterpercutaneous vertebral plasty combined125I radioactive particles into thetreatment group and individual use index of the protruding after percutaneousvertebral plasty. Results Two groups of patients treatment process smoothly,24h after thepain relief, no nerve damage and compression symptoms. Visual analog score aftertreatment, pain relief, dysfunction index, vertebral body height than beforetreatment significantly improved (P <0.05). Combination group were followed upfor1month and6months after treatment, visual analog scores, dysfunction index, vertebral body height change and there was no significant difference in24h after treatment (P>0.05). PKP holds the separate application in treatment group aftertreatment were followed up for6months, visual analog scores, functionaldisturbance index, and significant differences between24h after treatment (P <0.05), vertebral body height change and there was no significant difference in24hafter treatment significance (P>0.05). VAS score, dysfunction index comparisonbetween the two groups was statistically significant (P <0.05). Postoperativefollow-up did not see combined treatment group was obviously abnormal;Separate use PKP holds the treatment group, postoperative June4cases ofvertebral fractures and pain symptoms again,7cases of pain symptoms worsenagain. Conclusions Two kinds of treatment may be a short period of time tochange patients’ pain symptoms, but compared with separate the PKP holds thetreatment of vertebral metastases after percutaneous balloon expansion vertebralconvex forming joint125I radioactive particles group treatment of spinal metastases, alleviate the pain caused by a tumor, effectively restore the disease moresignificant effect of vertebral height, can obviously improve the patients quality oflife. |
