Objective:To study on electroglottography and analysis of voice features of Parkinson’s diseasepatients, and to provide quantitative indicators of a non-invasive method for the voice detectionin Parkinson’s disease patients. Methods:We selected19cases of Parkinson’s disease patients who met the inclusion criteria, andthen selected19cases of normal matched by gender, age proximity(difference≤5years) whomet the inclusion criteria. The two groups were treated by history taking and physicalexamination, GRBAS scale, voice handicap index-10and electroglottography examination, allthe results were compared and analyzed statistically.Results:1. In terms of education, Parkinson’s disease group does not have a statistically significantdifference (P>0.05) while being compared with the control group.2. After comparison of voice acoustic analysis method and electrode electroglottographicmethod in electroglottography instrument, in terms of the success rate of signal acquisition, voice acoustic analysis method is higher than that of the electrode electroglottographicmethod, with a statistically significant difference (P <0.05).3. The parameters of breathiness (B) and asthenia(A) present a statistically significantdifference (P<0.05) after comparison of the Parkinson’s disease group and the controlgroup in GRBAS scale.4. The result of the comparison of the Parkinson’s disease group and the control group inVHI-10does not present a statistically significant difference (P>0.05).5. In the voice acoustic analysis method with pronouncing vowels/a/,/i/,/u/, the parametersof V-jitter, V-shimmer and V-NNE in/a/and the parameters of V-jitter, V-NNE andV-HNR in/u/all present a statistically significant difference(P<0.05) after comparison ofthe Parkinson’s disease group and the control group. 6. In the electrode electroglottography method with pronouncing vowels/a/,/i/,/u/, theparameters of E-jitter, E-SD F0, E-NNE and E-HNR in/a/and the parameters of E-jitter,E-NNE and E-HNR in/i/and the parameters of E-jitter, E-NNE and E-HNR in/u/allpresent a statistically significant difference(P<0.05) after comparison of the Parkinson’sdisease group and the control group.Conclusions:1. The success rate of signal acquisition of voice acoustic analysis method is higher than that ofthe electrode electroglottographic method in electroglottography instrument, indicating in theway of the detection methods, voice acoustic analysis method may be superior to the electrodeelectroglottographic method.2. Combining GRBAS sclale, voice acoustic analysis method and electrode electroglottographicmethod, we discovered breathiness in Parkinson’s disease patients both on subjective andobjective assessment, suggesting that Parkinson’s disease patients exist the glottis closuredisturbance.
