Objective:Aim to examine the incidence of malignant tumors in Jing’an Temple Community of Shanghai from2002to2011, and analyze the relationship between the incidence of malignancies and the age, sex and profession.Methods:The data of malignant tumors incidence in Jing’an Temple Community of Shanghai from2002to2011were analyzed statistically.Results:From2002to2011, the new cases of malignant tumors in Jing’an Temple Community of Shanghai were1902totally. The incidence of malignancies had not increased year by year. In the year of2003,2006,2007and2008, the incidence of malignant tumors exist gender differences (P<0.05). Malignant tumors mainly occurred in the persons aged over40years old, and reached peaks at the age of80-90. Under the age of60years old, malignant tumors incidence of women was significantly higher than that of men (P<0.05). However, the incidence of men was higher than that of women over the age of70(P<0.01). The cases of malignant tumor were mainly concentrated on professional and technical personnel, production and transport workers, commercial and service workers (32.28%,30.13%,16.67%, respectively). The two most common malignant tumors in our community were tumors of respiratory system and digestive system. Under the age of40, the incidences of lung cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer and liver cancer was low, but there had a significant upward trend after the age over40. Besides, the incidence of prostate cancer increased significantly in men over the age of60. And, the incidence of breast cancer was significantly higher in women over age30.Conclusions:Malignant tumor is endangering the health and life of residents in Jing’an Temple Community of Shanghai. The incidence of malignancies in our community has obvious gender, age, and occupation distribution characteristics. The common malignant tumors in our community mainly focus on respiratory system, digestive system and genitourinary system. Besides, breast cancer has the highest incidence of malignant tumors in women.
