Objective:To investigate the diagnostic values and advantages of MRI in joints tuberculosis of appendicular skeleton in children subjects to evaluating the imaging characteristics of DR, CT and MRI and analyzing the features of the findings. Methods: Collecting the clinical and imaging data of46cases of children with joints tuberculosis of appendicular skeleton from6months to14years old in our hospital, which36cases of men and women in10cases. All of them were checked using DR and MRI, which16cases of CT examination at the same time. It is confirmed TB by the surgery, pathology and clinical diagnostic treatment and were followed up for6months. All imaging datas were used the blind method by comparing analysis with DR, CT and MRI imaging performance characteristics, which reached the diagnostic results by2doctors who has rich clinical experience in imaging diagnosis. If the results were not consistent, it was assessed by2doctors at the same time until reached the same result. Results:There were60joints involved, including hip suffers most which was26cases (43.33%), the next were knee joint which was20cases (33.33%), should joint which was6cases (10%), ankle joint and foot which was4cases (6.67%), respectively. To compared the DR, CT and MRI imaging findings, we can know that MRI is obvious superior to DR(P<0.001) in the aspects of showing the affected joint bone, cartilage destruction, synovium lesions, bone marrow involvement, joint effusion, joint around the abscess formation and lymphadenectasis while DR is better than MRI in showing dead bone formation (P0.001. CT has more obvious advantages than DR and MRI in showing dead bone formation(56%) of the end of the pathological changes, while there are no difference between DR and MRI in displaying joint gap narrows and fistula formation (P>0.05) Conclusion:It is the basis of the diagnosis in joints tuberculosis of appendicular skeleton in children and the low-dose spiral CT is effective supplement of DR flat piece of it. But MRI is more sensitive than DR in displaying of early bone and cartilage destruction, a small amount of joint effusion and surrounding soft tissue involvement degree and the scope which is the best imaging method in early diagnosis joints tuberculosis of appendicular skeleton in children and follow-up treatment effect of children.
