[Objective] To evaluate the prevalence of thyroid nodules in physical examination population of Haikou region. To assess the incidence of vitamin D lack and deficiency in part of physical examination population, and explore the relationship between vitamin D levels and TPOAb in thyroid nodules crowd.[Methods] A total of2309adults without a history of thyroidectomy disease were included in the retrospective study. And the population data was from the health-care center of Haikou Municipal People’s in Hainan Provincial between May to October in2013. The prevalence of thyroid nodules as well as its characteristic were estimated.Among them,223research subjects were selected from physical examination population, and examined their serum25(OH) D, FT4, TSH and TPOAb levels.[Results](1) The incidence of thyroid nodules was35.5%in physical examination population of Haikou region. Thyroid nodules were more prevalent in female than in male (48.5%VS29.0%), and the difference was statistically significant (x2=84.94,P<0.01).The prevalence of thyroid nodules increased with age increasing both in males and females, and Cochran-Armitage trend test showed a liner trend between age and incidence of nodules in the whole population (P<0.01).The prevalence of thyroid nodules in females aged40-and40~60was significantly higher than that in males of the same age group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).In subjects with thyroid nodules, solitary nodule accounted for42.8%,and multiple nodules57.2%,multiple nodules increased with age increasing, the ratio between solitary nodule and multiple ones showed a significant difference(P<0.01). In nodules nature, gived priority to with solid nodules, followed by pouch and solid, less pure cystic nodule. In patients with thyroid nodules, the prevalence of nodular goiter in the physical examination population was7.0%by ultrasound, hyperthyroidism0.65%, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis2.6%, thyroid tumors were1.7%, but22%of thyroid nodules not classified.(2) Compared with other domestic city, the prevalence of thyroid nodules in Haikou, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); overall prevalence in Haikou is highest, followed by the order is Jinan, Shenyang, and Hami.(3)223research subjects examined serum25(OH) D levels, the average of25(OH) D is (19.80±6.40) ng/ml, average of25(OH) D in non-nodules is (19.96±6.00) ng/ml,25(OH) D average of25(OH) D in nodules is (19.56±7.00) ng/ml, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05).(4) In thyroid nodules patients, the abnormol rate of TPOAb in population that lack of25(OH)D is higher,higher25(OH)D deficiency and adequate pepole, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05)[Conclusions](1) The overall prevalence of thyroid nodules in Haikou is higher, more than Jinan, Hami and Shenyang region, and multiple nodules is mainly,it showed increased.with age increasing.(2) Compared with other domestic, vitamin D lack is lower in Haikou region. It is no different that vitamin D nutritional status between patients with thyroid nodules and physical examination were not detected thyroid nodules crowd in Haikou region.Vitamin D lack of conditions that may affect autoimmune in thyroid nodules crowd.
