Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of intravesical resiniferatoxin (RTX) for the treatment of bladder pain syndrome/interstitial cystitis (PBS/IC). Methods:We searched Medline, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, CBM, Highwire, CNKI, VIP, Articles Digital Periodicals, search randomized study abroad information on RTX infusion therapy PBS/IC, and relevant Chinese and English Journal of Urology and nearly five years of domestic and urology conference papers were hand-searched. The literatures according with the inclusion criteria were assessed by two reviewers using a modified Jadad score sheet and the quality evaluation method. And disagreements were resolved through discussion and negotiation. Finally, all the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) included for meta-analysis RevMan5.1software. Results:Four prospective RCTs were involved; all of them are English literatures. There were220cases, of which154cases in RTX group,66cases in the control group. Meta-analysis showed that:the two groups in the VAS score (WMD=0.35,95%CI:0-0.70, P=0.05) difference was statistically significant, frequent urination (WMD=-1.30,95%CI:-3.47~0.88, P=0.24), nocturia (WMD=-0.25,95%CI:-1.00~0.49, P=0.51) was not statistically significant respects. Conclusion:The intravesical RTX therapy PBS/IC have some effect in improving pain symptoms, while improving urinary frequency, nocturia was no significant effect.
