Objective:Measuring the iodine content, the relative enhancement and the ene rgy spectrum slope of normal group and patient group by using dual-energy scanni ng technique. Analyze its significance in the diagnosis of thyroid disease. Method: Select255patients from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical Univ ersity.170of them are the normal group and90cases of nodular goiter group,15cases of thyroid cancer group. All patients included in the study are asked to ma ke dual-source CT examination of the neck. Transform the CT data to the dual-ene rgy software.\Measuring the normal group, nodular goiter group and the cancer gr oup’s thyroid iodine content, relative enhancement ratio and energy spectrum curve slope. Compare differences between the three groups of pairwise comparison. Prod uce the three parameters’receiver operating characteristic curve. Calculate sensitivit y and specificity. Make a test with pathology gold standard for consistency. Result: The plain scanning of normal group. The iodine content of thyroid is (1.3500±0.1925) mg/ml. The difference between left and right lobe is no statistically signifi cant(r=-0.1485,P=0.883>0.05). The iodine content of sternocleidomastoid is (0.2712±0.0980) mg/ml. The difference between left and right side is no statistically signifi cant(t=-1.567,P=0.121>0.05). The females’thyroid iodine content per unit volume is (1.3639±0.1953) mg/ml during plain scanning and the males’is (1.3258±0.1883)mg/ml. There is no significant difference between them(t=0.876, P=0.383>0.05). The enhanced scanning of normal group. The difference between left and right lob e is no statistically significant(t=-0.146, P=0.884>0.05). There is no significant dif ference between the man and the women(t=-1.652,P=0.102>0.05). The difference between Iodine content, energy spectrum slope of the curve, the relative enhanceme nt ratio of normal nodular goiter group and the cancer group is statistically signific ant during plain and dual-phase enhanced scanning. The best cutoff value of the th ree parameters ROC curve was0.265,-0.765,0.435. There have a relatively good consistency compare with the pathology gold standard during diagnosis the cancer. Conclusion:We are able to measure the iodine content, relative enhancement ratio, energy spectrum curve slope of normal thyroid tissue, nodular goiter and thyroid cancer by using dual-source CT dual-energy scanning technology. Provide the basis for clinical diagnosis of thyroid disease.
