Progress About Etiology And Diagnosis And Therapy Of Pyogenic Liver Abscess

Pyogenic liver abscess（PLA） is a serious infectious disease. Themortality rate is as high as80%-100%without early diagnosis and timelytreatment. Recent years, with the effective application of antibiotics anddevelopment of CT, MRI and other imaging technology, in addition to theincrease of the basic diseases such as diabetes, its etiology, diagnosis andtreatment are also changed. Biliary infection and blood infection areconsidered to be the common etiology of PLA. In recent years we foundthat diabetes was the main risk factor of PLA, pathogenic bacteria has beentransformed e. coli for klebsiella pneumoniae. Ultrasound is regarded asthe preferred method for diagnosis and curative effect evaluation of PLA.With the continuous development of imaging and interventional techniques,methods of treatment for PLA have also greatly be changed. Many newmethods are used for the treatment of PLA, at present percutaneous liverpuncture interention is considered to be the first-line treatment for PLA.
