purposeFollowing the methods of evidence-based medicine, we need to evaluate the clinical efficacy of treatment by starting the clinical pathway of traditional Chinese medicine of acute cough, in order to optimize and standard the treatment-service process of patients with acute cough, and improve patient satisfaction and to recognition. methodsAccording to the long-term clinical practice, then combine with literature, summarize the experiences of Famous TCM doctors and base on the TCM theory, finally propose the scheme for acute cough of TCM clinical pathway. This scheme takes multicenter, prospective study method. Doctors use Chinese medicine, or Chinese patent drug, or TCM intravenous drip, or drugs, or acupuncture, or pull cans, or auricular needle treatment to treat patients with acute cough. Thus, the researchers use self-controlled trials, to evaluate curative effect, cost and patients’satisfaction. Eventually to standard medical behavior, improve medical quality.resultIn150acute cough outpatients, female are more than male patients. Acute bronchitis disease diagnosis found most, followed by upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis acute cases is the least. According to the syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine, found that cold cough patients are most, followed by the wind heat cough patients, the wind dry cough patients and phlegm heat cough patients. In the process of treatment, Chinese medicine utilization rate is the highest, followed by Chinese patent drug, or TCM intravenous drip. We find only13patients using Antibiotics or antibechic, and antibiotic using more specification In the clinical pathway. At the same time, only1case of the wind heat cough patients given acupuncture, pull cans and auricular needle treatment. So I suggest that we should increase the use of traditional Chinese medicine characteristics.Total treatment in patients with acute cough clinic days in2to7days, average outpatient treatment days is5.767±1.397days. Days of the male and female in the treatment have no statistical difference.Analysis the four different syndrome types of the outpatients with acute cough days, finding that the wind heat cough patients’Treatment time is the shortest, followed by the wind dry cough patients, phlegm heat cough patients, treatment time of cold cough patients is the longest. In cough symptom scores, we use self-controlled trials to compare before and after treatment in patients with acute cough, and get P=0.000<0.05, with significant statistical difference.we can see the cough symptoms better than before treatment significantly. In terms of cough and other symptoms curative effect evaluation, four kinds of syndrome types of patients with acute cough, the all above85%, the clinical curative effect is distinct, does not appear variation of patients. Nonparametric test based on multiple level data, found that the card type distribution of cough and other symptoms curative effect is not completely the same. This path cost evaluation found that acute cough all cost (total cost) is212.88yuan, compared with western medicine treatment (356.4元), clinical pathway of traditional Chinese medicine in terms of cost is cheaper and safer treatment. According to patients on the path, curative effect and the cost of the medical service satisfaction are above83%. Patients can accept clinical pathway of traditional Chinese medicine therapy, and agree with acute cough diagnostic criteria for diagnosis and treatment scheme, the physical and chemical inspection, treatment, and evaluation standards. Each center agrees that the clinical pathway with standardization, operability, and can be implemented in clinical promotion.conclusionAcute cough clinical pathway of traditional Chinese medicine curative effect in treatment of acute cough, and the cost is reasonable, patients’satisfaction is high. The research does not appear obvious adverse reactions.
