The Clinical Research Of Feasibility Of "Xingnao Kaiqiao"Acupuncture Therapy On Preventing Depression After Stroke

Objective:To discuss the feasibility of "Xingnao Kaiqiao" acupuncture therapy on preventing depression after stroke. Observe the therapeutic effect on neurologic impairment and the decline of PSD in60patients after stroke which base on "Xingnao kaiqiao" acupuncture therapy and the conventional treatment to evaluate the clinical results of the two methods.Methods:60qualified cases are recruited in this randomized-controlled clinical trial. There are30cases in the acupuncture group and30cases in the control group. Besides the conventional treatment, the acupuncture group is selected with "Xingnao Kaiqiao" acupuncture therapy, the control group is treated only with the conventional treatment. Before and after treatment, assess patients’depressive symptomatology by Hamilton Depression Scale, while assessthe degree of their neurological deficit by China Stroke Score. Compare the results of CCS in four weeks and the morbidity of PSD of two groups in four weeks and three months. The date was analyzed by SPSS16.0software to find out the effect of "Xingnao kaiqiao" acupuncture therapy on the incidence of PSD.Results:1. After four weeks, the effect of the acupuncture group on improvement of the neurological deficit degree shows significant difference compared with the control group (P>0.05).This indicates that the "Xingnao Kaiqiao" acupuncture therapy has significant improvement of the neurological deficit degree on stroke patients in four weeks.2. After four weeks,the morbidity of PSD of the acupuncture group is16.67%, shows significant impression on reducing the morbidity of PSD compared with the control group, of which the morbidity is43.33%, P<0.05. At the time of three months follow-up, the morbidity of PSD of patients in "Xingnao Kaiqiao" acupuncture therapy group is15.38%, while the morbidity of PSD of another group is40.00%, compared by SPSS16.0software,there is significant difference between the two groups in the happening of PSD. So, the "Xingnao Kaiqiao" acupuncture therapy shows obvious effect on reducing the incidence of PSD on stoke patients.Conclusions:The results suggest that "Xingnao Kaiqiao" acupuncture therapy can reduce the morbidity of PSD.
