Application Of QCC On Improving KaABP Level Of Catheter Maintenance Of Patients Discharging With PICC

Objective: To investigate the KABP level on catheter maintenance inpatients discharging with PICC and analyze its influence factors，and toexplore the effect of QCC on the KABP level，to provide the theoreticalbasis for health education to clinical nurses.Methods: Randomly selected3grade A class3hospitals inChongqing，293patients discharging with PICC were chosen from Feb. toAug. in2013by convenitent sampling.The control group（n=30）werechosen from May. to Jun. in2013while the study group（n=28）werechosen from Jan. to Feb. in2014，observe the KABP level on cathetermaintenance between the two groups after a conventional healtheducation(the control group) or a standardized health education byQCC(the study group).Results:1.The right response rate of the patients towards thequestionnaire of KABP on catheter maintenance was77.60%，with the totalaverage score was（77.59±7.69）.2.The level on catheter maintenance wascorrelated with education degree、vocation、catheterization history and faith.3. After a standardized health education in QCC，the right responserate of the patients rose from68.86%to93.94%，with the rate of progresswas36.42%and the precentage of achieving goal was101.17%；the totalaverage score rose from（67.87±6.03）to（93.75±3.20），with the rate ofprogress was38.13%and the precentage of achieving goal was105.94%，and there was statistically significant between the two groups （P＜0.01）.4.During the QCC activity，the application of quality control methodwas the highest growth value among nurses，the communication andcoordination ability、self-confidence and sense of management taken thesecond place，and team cohesion and positive got the third，there werestatistically significant in mean value of intangible results before and afterthe activity（P＜0.01）.Conclusion: Standarding the health education of patients dischargingwith PICC by QCC activity can improve their KABP level and thecompliance and efficacy on catheter maintenance，prolong the time ofdischarging with PICC，ensure the progress of therapy.At the same time，QCC activity is also an effective way to improve the nursing work process，standard clinical nursing operation，improve the nursing quality and workefficiency.It can arouse the nurse’s sense of belonging and ownership. Thenurses solved the problems through their own efforts， and theircomprehensive quality was improved，thus they can experience the purposeand significance of the work.
