Objective:To analysis the dry eye syndrome of age-related patientsafter cataract surgery using a new equipment keratogragh D.Methods:35cases(50eyes) with cataract selected from december2013to march2014in the department of opthalmology in our hospital wereinvolved in this study. All of them took phacoemulsification combined withintaocular lens implantation. We observed and recorded the followingindicators in1day before,7days and1month after the surgeryrespectively-The score of dry eye symptoms; Meibo-Scan,Non-invasiveTear break up time (NIBUT) and Tear Meniscus Height were measured byKeratograph D.Result: Compared with1day before surgery, the score of dry eyesymptoms was obviously higher, the tear meniscus height reducedsignificantly and the tear break up time shortened in seven days and onemonth after the operation, the differences were stastically significant(p<0.05).While the meibomian gland orifices and glandular tubes had nochange after the operation。 Conclusion:The cataract surgery can influent the ocular surface andbreak the stability of tear film in a short time after the operation, whichinduce the postoperative dry eye syndrome that should be treatedactively.Keratogragh D could measure the tear break up time and spatialdistribution of tear film noninvasively and accurately, which could provideevidences for prevention and treatment for postoperative dry eyes.
