Cardiovascular diseases(CVD) is a major cause of death in both developed and developing countries recently, and these grow fast and occur in younger people.Traditional risk factors for CVD are physical factors and behavioral factors.Physical factors refer to hypertention, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and obesity.Behavioral factors include unhealthy diet, smoking, dringking and lacking of physical activity. In recent years,a lot of studies suggest that psychological stresses have an effect on CVD,but there are no consistent conclusion. This study is going to learn the relationship between mental stress and CVD risk factors of resident in Zhejiang province,in order to offer evidences in taking measures to prevent CVD and help them to manage their own health more effectively.Objects:Smoking status, mental stress and CVD risk factors of resident over18in Zhejiang province are going to be collected and analyzed to learn the relationships among them. Results of the study will lead us to guide them give up bad habbits and try to find an effective way of preventing CVD.Methods:People over18were randomly sampled when coming to have a physical test from August to December2013.They did a questionnaire about their demographic data(sex, age),their smoking status and their mental stress status(whether experiencing a stressful event within2years,level of their stress and source of stress);their physical datas were obtained after their physical examing including their height, weight, blood pressure, blood lipid(total cholesterol,triglyceride,high-density lipoprotein and low-density lipoprotein)and blood glucose. Then these datas will be analyzed to find whether smoking status and mental stress affect CVD.Result:3670people were investigated in this survey.Among them there are2500men and1170women,and the average age is44.12±10.81.In this survey, there are24.4%of subjects whose blood pressures are abnormal. The rates of overweight and obesity are38.0%and10.7%.Moreover,62.3%and3.8%of subjects have some problems in blood lipid and glucose. The results also show that age,sex differences and marriage status, smoking, drinking as well as time of working out has significant effects on blood pressue, lipid and glucose. And multiple regression analasis shows that mental stress can affect blood pressure. But results of one-way ANOVA show that people who are mentally stressed tend to be healthier. Besides, negative events of life can affect health.Conclusion:(1)The average levels of blood pressur, lipid and glucose have a little risk for subjects of this survey.(2)There is a relationship between mental stress and CVD,but mental stress didn’t aggravate CVD risk.
