ObjectiveThe study was to investigate the health knowledge, attitudes, practices and influencing factors of public employees in Xinxiang city, in order to provide the basis for pertinent health education implementation or information for further studyMethods350subjects who served for the public in relevant places were selected for the survey by cluster sampling. All the surveys were performed on site. Questionnaires were filled by investigators and immediately collected after being completed. The survey included general characterization of the employees and KAP (knowledge, attitude and practice) to public health knowledge and influencing factors.Results1. Women were the main employees in public places in Xinxiang. The ratio of male to female was0.6:1.72.32%of them graduated from middle school or high school, and23.21%of them had advanced diplomas or degrees.55.95%employees were older than30years, and76.49%of them were with working experiences less than5years.2. The average score from the questionnaire was66.06±10.50. The score of knowledge part was34.70±9.26.61.63%people could answer more than60%correct answers. Among them, the correctly answering rate of the route of transmission, disinfection was low, but infectious disease prevention and health regulations were high with a rate over65%. The average score of attitude was14.49 ±2.19, and score of behavior was16.86±3.55.3. The ways to get hygienic knowledge were through internet, television, other electronic media.215people choosed this and the proportion of63.98%.4. The results showed that education, seniority and age ware related to the high scores. The regression equation was:Total score=12.72+3.68(Education)+2.06(Seniority)+1.16(Age).Conclusions1. The health knowledge of employees in public places in Xinxiang was generally poor.2. The knowledge level of hygienic health mainly related to education, seniority and age and is not related to sex, type of work, or possession of health card.3. The ways to get relative knowledge about healthy were internet, television, other electronic media, newspaper, magazine and relative professional training.
