Responsibility which we often face with in our daily life is an old and critical category in ethics.Medical education aims to enhance the ability of medical and health system construction. Therefore, theeducation on the medical students given by medical colleges and universities should be “medical educationbased on responsibility” for the society. Nowadays, with the highly developed medical technology, wehuman beings have been able to use all kinds of advanced medical equipments to help patients solve manydifficult problems. However, various medical errors or the doctor-patient cases occur frequently, whichconstantly reminds us: human responsibility consciousness is weakening.The sense of responsibility of medicine which is a special discipline is the basic requirement of thesaying “medicine is human art”, is the prerequisite of a medical worker, and is the need of the developmentof medical career. As the essence of the medicine, morality is embodied in the medical practice. It is thesole criterion for testing medical ethics being correct or not. Medical ethics is a crucial part in the processof medical professionals’ engaging in medical and health work and building a harmonious doctor-patientrelationship. It is a belief that exists within the medical staff. It constantly guides and specifies thebehaviors of the medical staff.Medical talents are the first resource of the medical and health services, and the medical education isthe important guarantee to the healthy development of the medical and health services. Medical collegesand universities follow the law of medical education, should strengthen the education on medical students’professional ethics, strive to cultivate the medical students’ sense of responsibility and make the medicalstudents fully realize the sense of responsibility is a medical worker’s self-awareness about his or herpatients. The students should keep in mind that “kindness small and not for, is a sin to steal a pin” and servethe people heart and soul. As medical students’ internship is long, the responsibilities of clinical teachingteachers should be clarified and higher requests about medical ethics are put on these teachers. They alsoshould edify and affect the students through their words and deeds and the advantageous resources of themedical ethics at the teaching site. At the same time, combined with the actual situation of the medicalcolleges and universities, they should include more case studies about the present situation of social medical treatment in the process of medical ethics education. What’s more, they should extend the time ofthe curriculum and highlight the importance of medical ethics education on medical students. Through thediscussion and analysis of medical students’ sense of responsibility education, this paper try to find out theeffective ways to medical students’ sense of responsibility education for guiding medical students to placepeople first, to promote virtue and forsake evil and to develop noble medical ethics.
