ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between sedentary and chronic prostatitis (CP) incidence in order to provide references for the CP prevention, treatment and prevention of relapse.MethodsWe use Self-designed questionnaire to investigate and record among200cases that had been diagnosed in patients with CP in the First Affiliated Hospital Outpatients of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine during October2013to March2014. As control group200healthy men in the health examination center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine had taken the survey in the same period. We use chronic prostatitis symptom index (NIH-CPSI) score table to sore CP patients after they had been conducted TCM syndrome type grouping. After all data collection, collation and input computer, we use SPSS19.0statistical software to conduct t test for the age of the case group and control group comparison, the same test to the NIH-CPSI symptom severity score comparison of the different TCM syndromes of CP patients. For the proportional distribution of residence and the sedentary compared to the situation of the case group and control group, we conduct Chi-square (x2) test.ResultsThis study have surveyed a total number of400people,200people of the case group and200people of the control group. In the case group,200cases by investigators, the youngest is18years old and the oldest is50years old, The average age was33.31±2.76years old. In the control group,200cases by investigators, the youngest is19years old and the oldest is52years old, The average age was33.59±2.65years old. The age of the case group and control group by t test both difference is not significant (P>0.05), there are comparable. In the case group,200cases by investigators,106people are living in this province in the city,53%of the total.94people are living in this province in other citys,47%of the total. In the control group,200cases by investigators,103people are living in this province in the city,51.5%of the total.97people are living in this province in other citys,48.5%of the total. The habitat distribution form of the case group and control group by Chi square test both difference is not significant (P>0.05).200cases of CP patients in case group have103people in line with sedentary conditions,51.5%of the total.200cases in the control group,29healthy men are in line with sedentary conditions,14.5%of the total. The sedentary proportion of the case group and control group by Chi square test both difference is significant (P=0.0000),The sedentary ratio of the case group is higher than the control group. Different syndromes in patients with CP NIH-CPSI symptom severity compared in200patients with CP, the dampness and heat accumulation type CP patients have88cases, the NIH-CPSI symptom severity mean score of20.21, and a standard deviation of1.62. The qi stagnation and blood stasis type CP patients have80cases, the NIH-CPSI symptom severity mean score of18.56, and a standard deviation of1.55. The yin-deficiency and fire-excess type CP patients have15cases, the NIH-CPSI symptom severity mean score of7.93, and a standard deviation of1.59. The kidney Yang deficiency loss type CP patients have17cases, the NIH-CPSI symptom severity mean score of8.10, and a standard deviation of1.66. The mean difference by t test both difference is significant (P=0.0000).The dampness and heat accumulation type and qi stagnation and blood stasis type CP patients with symptom severity are significantly higher than the other two types.ConclusionThe Sedentary proportion of CP patients is significantly higher normal healthy people. Sedentary may be a risk factor in the CP pathogenesis. It may be caused that sedentary people sitting for a long time to surrounding tissues and organs of prostate blood perform poorly and airframe nutrition supply, resistance to drop, induce bacterial infection.
