Objective:To research the possible risk factors related to chronic prostatitis in order to provide the evidences to prevent and cure it.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted among200chronic prostatitis parents who head for urologic surgery clinic of hunan provincial people’s hospital during May2010to July2011. As control group219healthy adults who kept company with patients had taken the survey in the same period, we had designed a unitive questionaire according to purposes and requirements of the research. The main contents included:age, nation, marrige, residence, degree of education, occupation, spicy food, eating fruit, smoking, drinking alcohol, fixed position, sports, holding back urine, stay up all night, constipation, wearing skinny pants, sexual activity, use condoms, masturbation, history of unclean coitus, taking Yang-strengthening drug, character, etc.To collect questionaires, check datas and build input database. The data were analyzed by Descriptive analysis,χ2test、Fisher’s Exact Test、 Rank sum test and miti-factors logistic regression analysis by SPSS16.0.Results:(1) Total number of thesurvey was394cases in effect. After data cleaning-up there were380cases up to standard.185cases in parents group and195cases.in control group. In parents group, the youngest was18years old and the eldest was49years old. the mean age (33.312.96) years old; in control group, the youngest was21years old and the eldest was51years old, mean age (30.192.65) years old. The parents group and the control group were comparable.(P>0.05)。(2) The following factors: degree of education, marrige, occupation, spicy food, eating fruits, drinking alcohol, riding bicycle, sitting for long time, frequency of sports in a week, stay up all night, holding back urine, constipation, wearing skinny pants, use condoms, frequency of masturbation in a week, history of unclean coitus, taking Yang-strengthening drug, inhibitory impulse, coitus interruptus, introverted character, etc. Through statistical hypothesis test, we could see The parents group and the control group were different with statistical significance (P<0.05)。(3) By single factor x2test, Fisher’s Exact Test, Rank sum test, etc. we had screened out20suspicious risk fators, regarding20suspicious risk fators as independent variable and Chronic prostatitis or not as dependent variable. With Backward:LR αλ=0.05, α出=0.10, and muti-factors logistic regression analysis, we finally had chose out7main risk factors (P<0.05).These risk factors were spicy food, drinking alcohol, fixed position, holding back urine, wearing skinny pants, frequency of masturbation in a week, taking Yang-strengthening drug.Conclusion:(1) By single factor analysis, it showed that the following factos were connected to chronic prostatitis:degree of education, marrige, occupation, spicy food, eating fruits, drinking alcohol, riding bicycle, sitting for long time, frequency of sports in a week, stay up all night, holding back urine, constipation, wearing skinny pants, use condoms, frequency of masturbation in a week, history of unclean coitus, taking Yang-strengthening drug, inhibitory impulse, coitus interruptus, introverted character, etc.(2) By muti-factor analysis, it showed that the risk factors of Chronic prostatitis include:spicy food, drinking, f fixed position, regularly holding back urine, wearing skinny pants, high frequency of masturbation in a week, taking Yang-strengthening drug. Etc.(3) good habits amd customs, regular moderate sexual life, psychological health, appropriate self-care, which can greatly reduce the incidence of chronic prostatitis.
