ObjectiveTo construct a traditional chinese and western medical health management information system of childhood asthma, which is with chinese medical characteristics, including diagnosis, follow-up mission in one, systematic, intelligent, network-based, and establish the information model of health management for childhood asthma.MethodsPreliminary summarized the system information and records management system items of this system by using the survey method to understand the information and needs of the children with asthma and their families, and access to relevant literature. Use simplified Delphi evaluation method for expert advice, and ultimately determine major information of the health management system. Use modern computer technology to embody the former organization scheme in the form of a health management software. Use empirical study of this health management system application testing, trial run into the75patient cases, statistical analysis by the system database.Results1. As for literature, childhood asthma has high morbidity, a long time treatment, a serious impact on the children with asthma, their families and China’s social. The treatment of childhood asthma is not only by the medicine, the more by the reasonable, effective health management. But at present there are many inadequacies in the health management of childhood asthma, such as the management staff, means, instrument. Secondly, though traditional chinese medicine has important impact on the prevention and treatment of childhood asthma, but it is not well with the organic combination of modern health management, and it can not play its role fully. 2. As for system research and development, through the various investigations into health care workers, software developers, sick children, and the sick children’s parents, analysis reports on demand, performance and function of the construction of health management system were completed and the feasibility of that system construction has been demonstrated. In addition, with the assistance of software developers, the system development was completed.3. As for systematic validation, selecting the compliant children in asthma for system management to test the operation of the system, which indicated that the traditional chinese and western medical health management system of childhood asthma has reached the target set by demand analysis. In addition, statistical analysis of the collected data provided a reference of system upgrade and the improvement of management.Conclusion1. The traditional chinese and western medical health management system for childhood asthma provides a good platform to strengthen health management, and to collect, inquire, and arrange data.2.
