ObjectiveThe expression of p21and p27protein in the meibomian gland carcinoma and its different pathological characteristics and clinical significanceMethods60specimens of meibomian gland carcinoma and20specimens of normal meibomian gland were collected. Every specimen was made4sections, thickness of the section was5μm. One section was stained by HE; two section was stained by Streptavidin-Peroxidase immunohistochemistry for the expression of p21and p27protein; one section was used for blank control by using PBS substitution the first antibody. Pictures were analyzed by Image-Pro Plus6.0(IPP6.0). The degree of stain was determined by Mean Optical Density (MOD) of sections. The difference in expression of p21and p27protein between carcinoma of meibomian gland tissues and normal meibomian gland tissues was analysed by SPSS version17.0.Results1、 Expression of p21and p27protein was positive both in normal meibomian gland tissues and carcinoma of meibomian gland, The distribution of p21and p27protein was in nucleus.2、 MOD values of p21protein in carcinoma of meibomiangland tissues was0.144749352, in normal meibomian gland tissues was0.185372390, the difference of MOD values was statistically significant statistical (p=0.001<0.05); MOD values of p27protein in carcinoma of meibomiangland tissues was0.145043278, in normal meibomian gland tissues was0.183275308, the difference of MOD values was statistically significant statistical (p=0.000<0.05).3、MOD values of p21protein were different in difierent differentiation of carcinoma of meibomian gland tissues, and the difference of MOD values was statistically significant statistical (F=0.008, p=0.034<0.05); MOD values of p27protein were different in difierent differentiation of carcinoma of meibomian gland tissues, and the difference of MOD values was statistically significant statistical (F=0.036, p=0.023<0.05).4、MOD values of p21protein comparison between groups of meibomian gland tissues is difference, and the difference of MOD values was statistically significant statistical (p=0.073,0.067,0.049<0.05); MOD values of p27protein comparison between groups of meibomian gland tissues is difference, and the difference of MOD values was statistically significant statistical (p=0.06、0.053、0.028<0.05). We found no significant statistical relationship between the expression of p21and p27protein, age,sex, position, course of disease (p>0.05), but were statistically significant statistical between the expression of differentiation, recurrence (p=<0.05).5、The expression of p21and p27protein were significantly positively correlated.Conclusion1、The abnormal expression of p21and p27protein, description p21and p27protein play an important role in the genesis and development of meibomian gland carcinoma.2、MOD values of p21and p27protein comparison between groups of meibomian gland tissues is difference, and the difference of MOD values was statistically significant statistical, description p21and p27protein in judging the malignant degree of meibomian gland carcinoma have reference value.and statistically significant statistical between the expression of differentiation, recurrence, description p21and p27protein can prediction the prognosis.3、The expression of p21and p27protein were significantly positively correlated, playing a synergistic role in the occurrence and development of sebaceous adenocar cinoma, which demonstrate that combined detection of p21and p27maybe contribute to predict the prognosis of the carcinoma of meibomian gland.
