ObjectiveTo investigate the heath education needs of liver cirrhosis, To formulate andimplement health education clinical path in family caregivers of cirrhosis patients; Toexplore effectiveness on caregivers knowledge of liver disease and patients’ healthbehaviors (HP), To decrease complications related to cirrhosis patients and enhancethe self-care agency, so a quicker rehabilitation will be achieved.Methods126patients with liver cirrhosis treated by digest department from October2013to March2014in The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University weredivided into two groups: control and intervention group.63patients in interventiongroup accepted health education through clinical path and63patients who were givenroutines health education only respectively,both of them were investigated beforedischarged from hospital after intervention respectively by completing personaldocuments and adopting Cirrhosis Knowledge Test Scale, the self-care agency Scaleand patients’ health behaviors (HP).Compare self-care agency, complications rate oftwo groups and patients satisfaction. All data was processed with13.0version ofSPSS software through t test,x2test and descriptive statistical analysis.ResultsTotally126patients meeting the inclusion criteria were Investigated,only120 questionnaires were collected,so the effective collect rate was95.24%.1.The total qualify rate of knowledge test in intervention group was96.7%,incontrol group was83.3%.The knowledge score in the intervention group wasobviously higher than that in the control group (P<0.05).2. The results of t test showed that total scores and every dimension score ofhealth behaviors in the control group were lower than that in the intervention group(P<0.05).3. Comparing the dimensionalities of self-care agency post interventions in twogroup,Paired T test showed that in self-care agency the scores of health knowledge,self-care technique, self-care responsibility and self-concept in intervention groupwere all higher compared to the control group. the differences between two groupswere all significant(P<0.05).4.19complications in intervention group and56in control group. Overallcomplications in control group were significant higher compared to interventiongroup, Change between the two groups was significant (P<0.05).5. Patients and caregivers satisfaction rate in the intervention group was96.7%,in the control group was86.7%, the difference between the two groups wassignificant(P<0.05).Conclusions1. Health education clinical path is proved to enhance the health education resultsof caregivers and raise the HP standard of patients with hepatic cirrhosis.2. Health education clinical path is proved to decrease complications related tohepatic cirrhosis.3. Health education clinical path is proved to enhance self-care agency and patientsatisfaction to nursing.
