Trigonostemon lutescens belongs to Trigonostemon genus, it is an endemic medicinal plan in Guangxi. Plants of Trigonostemon genus are common medicines in China and Thailand. Prerious research show that plants of Trigonostemon genus contain a series of active compounds, such as diterpenes, alkaloids, phenanthrenes, etc, and they have cytotoxic activity, antivirus activity, insect-resisitant and bacteriostatic activity, etc. Plants of Trigonostemon genus are a kind of medicinal plant resources which has great development potential. So far, there are few reports on the study of the chemical compositions of Trigonostemon lutescens. So research on its chemical compositions is of important value. This research will provide a basis for the development and utilization of Trigonostemon lutescens.39compounds were isolated from Trigonostemon lutescens Y. T. Chang et J. Y. Liang by using ethanol extraction, silica gel column chromatography, reverse silica gel column chromatography, gel column chromatography and recrystallization, etc. And the structures of23of them were elucidated by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Among them,12compounds are diterpenes:Trigoxyphin A (1)、3,16α-dihydroxykaurane (2)、 ent-kaurane-3,16α-diol (3)、10,16α-dihydrox-y-isokaurane (4)、ent-kaurane-3,5,16α-triol (5)、8α-hydroxy-3,4-secopimara-4,15(18)-diene-3-oic acid (6)、8α-hydroxy-3,4-secopimara-4,15(18)-diene-3-oate (7)、3,4-secopimara-4,8(9),15(18)-triene-3-acid-methyl ester (8)、Trigoflavidone A (9)、clerodane-2,4,11-triene-17-acid methyl ester (10)、3α-dihydroxy-kaurane-16-ene (11)、13α-dihydroxy-kaurane-16-ene-18-acid methyl ester (12);1compound is unsaturated fattyacid:(9E,,12E,14E)-2,3-dihydroxypropyl octadeca-9,12,14-trienoate (13);2compounds are steroids:6β-hydroxy-stigma-4-ene-3- one (14)、tigma-4-ene-3-one (15);3compounds are triterpenes:3α-hydroxy-12(13),20(30)-diene-ursolic acid (16)、3α-hydroxy-20(30)-ene-ursolic acid (17)、19α-hydroxy-12(13)-diene-3-one-ursolic acid (18);1compound is biphenyl:4,4’-dimethoxy-1,1’-biphenyl (19);2compounds are coumarins:Isofraxidin (20)、Fraxidin (21);2compounds are benzoic acids:3,4,5-trimethoxyphenol (22)、3,4-dimethoxyphenol (23).
