Clinical Reseach On Gastrointestinal Dysfunction In Sepsistreated With Tongligongxia Chinese Herb

Objective:This study is to observe the Tongligongxia Chinese herb clinical effect on gastrointestinal dysfunction observed in patients with sepsis.Objective to evaluate the effects of Tongli Gongxia Chinese herbs on sepsis patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction and inflammatory indexes.Methods:The60cases of critically ill patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction from July2010to June2012met the inclusion criteria as the test subjects.The primary disease was severe pneumonia,They were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with30cases in each. This is a prospective study.The treatment group and the control group both were treated with Western medicine as normal therapy. Treatment according to2008serious sepsis and septic shock treatment guidelines. Including the initial resuscitation, anti infection, mechanical ventilation and supporting treatment.The treatment group is given by normal therapy and Tongligongxia Chinese herb, while the control group only gets normal therapy. Chinese medicine specialist treatment based on syndrome differentiation.The traditional Chinese medical doctor write out the prescription for the patients, Decocting room of hospital pharmacy for decocting herbs into100ml/dose, Treatment by nasal feeding,100ml bid, the couse of treatment is3days; Control group feed same amount of pure water; The first day and the third day when patient get into the hospital we evaluate all of the patients’ APACHE Ⅱ score and gastrointestinal function score and keep the laboratory indexes. Intestinal dysfunction score, APACHE Ⅱ score, inflammatory markers (white blood cell count, neutrophil ratio, C-reactive protein, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, procalcitonin) in the groups was observed before and after treatment.Results:1.Two groups of patients with baseline levels on admission day, including gender, age, APACHE Ⅱ score, gastrointestinal dysfunction score, the first day of inflammatory markers:white blood cell count, neutrophil ratio, C-reactive protein, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, procalcitonin, have no statistical difference (P>0.05).2. Tongligongxia Chinese herb can significantly improve the gastrointestinal dysfunction of patients with severe pneumonia and sepsis:The degree of bowel dysfunction score was more improved in treatment group than in the control group, The difference in the two groups has statistical significance (P<0.05).3. Tongligongxia Chinese herb can improve disease severity The APACHE II score in the treatment group and the control group after treatment decreased, there was significant difference (P<0.05), The treatment group decreased significantly than the control group (P<0.05).4. Tongligongxia Chinese herb can reduce inflammation:the WBC count, neutrophil ratio, ESR, CRP, procalcitonin decreased both in the treatment group and the control group after treatment.Inflammation markers of the treatment group decreased more than the control group (P<0.05).Condusion:The effect of Tongligongxia Chinese herb treating septic patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction is certain. Traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of gastrointestinal dysfunction in critically ill patients has important value.
