Influence On The Toxicity And Side Effects Of Malignant Tumor Chemotherapy With Fire Needle On Sihua Points

ObjectiveThis study is a prospective randomized controlled clinical study, comparing fire needle on points with the clinical efficacy of preventive medicine cancer chemotherapy toxicities, for observing fire needle on points for the influence caused by cancer chemotherapy toxicity attenuated effect, to provide theoretical and scientific basis for prevention and treatment of cancer clinical acupuncture.MethodsCancer chemotherapy research methods adopted in this study prospective randomized controlled trials; the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology November2012to April201460patients met the inclusion criteria for the study, and through random number table; subjects are divided into two group, one of treatment group including30patients, another of control group including30patients.The study took Anticancer drug toxicity reaction indexing table, Karnofasky physical status score table, and Quality of life scores (table QOL) as the clinical efficacy evaluation, observing fire needle on SiHua points for the attenuated effect caused by cancer chemotherapy toxicity, evaluating the treatment before and after, establishing the database by the resulting data, using SPSS18.0statistical software for statistical analysis.Results1. Baseline case:The treatment group and the control group (60patients) of patients have no statistically difference (P>0.05) in age, gender, disease constituted, the course of disease, and the frequency of chemotherapy. It means that the two groups were comparable.2. Objective indicator:Before treatment, two groups of patients hemoglobin, white blood cells, platelets between groups, blood toxicity HGB indexing, WBC indexing, PLT indexing (WHO) and the nausea and vomiting of two group indexing have no statistically difference (P>0.05). It means that the two groups were comparable. After treatment, two groups of blood toxicity HGB indexing and HGB level statistically difference (P>0.05). After treatment, two groups of PLT level, blood toxicity WBC indexing, PLT indexing have statistically significant (P<0.05). Two groups of white blood cells and the nausea and vomiting indexing after treatment has remarkable statistically significant (P<0.01).It means that the treatment group can reduce myelosuppression and gastrointestinal reaction induced by chemotherapy than the control group.3. Therapeutic evaluation:Before treatment, two groups of patients Karnofasky physical status score and quality of life scores have no statistically difference(P>0.05).It means that the two groups were comparable. After treatment, two groups of Karnofasky physical status score has remarkable statistically significant (P<0.01). It means that the treatment group can improve more chemotherapy patients’physical status score than the control group. After treatment, two groups of quality of life scores have statistically significant (P<0.05).It means that the treatment group compared with the control group can enhance the quality of life of patients with chemotherapy.Conclusion1. Fire needle on SiHua points than western medicine can reduce the blood toxicity caused by chemotherapy, possibly by promoting division-growth of hematopoietic stem cell in bone marrow, making the colony formation of white blood cell and megakaryocyte increase, promoting the formation of white blood cells and platelets increase, and finally reduce the degree of decline in WBC,PLT, but the effect on hemoglobin is not obvious.2. Fire needle on SiHua points can obviously reduce chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, possibly by combining the therapeutic effect of warming collateral channels and adjusting the Qi from fire needle with the therapeutic effect of regulating qi-flowing for harmonizing stomach from SiHua points.3. To a certain extent, fire needle on SiHua points can improve the Karnofasky physical status and quality of life of chemotherapy patients, possibly by support the normal and tonify the deficiency, stimulating the vital qi of body, enhancing the immunologic function of body, and reducing the toxicity and side effects of chemotherapy.
