ObjectiveAccording to treating4-6years old children with mental retardation (MR) based on Jin’s Three-needle therapy, We compare the effect of cognitive training with scalp acupuncture’s retention with the effect of cognitive training after scalp acupuncture’s retention; get results and arrival a conclusion.MethodsThe subject select38children with MR from January2012to March2014in the cerebropathy center of the Yuexiu District Children’s hospital. The diagnostic standard is based on the diagnosis of 《CCMD-3》2001. The qualified subjects were randomly classified into two groups:the trial group21children (lingual and cognitive training with scalp acupuncture’s retention) and the controlled group17children (lingual and cognitive training after scalp acupuncture’s retention). Treat3times each week for12weeks in a course with36times of needling in total. According to observe one course, we do the MR children with the with C-WYCSI and Children Social and Adaptive Behavior Scale and evaluate verbal intelligence quotient (VIQ) and performance intelligence quotient (PIQ), total intelligence quotient (TIQ), and social and adaptive behavior.ResultsAfter one treatment course (three mouths), VIQ, PIQ, TIQ and social and adaptive behavior scores of lingual and cognitive training with scalp acupuncture’s retention rise obviously compared with those before treatment and the difference has statistical significance;and the scores of lingual and cognitive training after scalp acupuncture’s retention compared with those before treatment VIQ and social and adaptive behavior have no obviously effect; PIQ and TIQ have difference. When compare with D-value percent we find that VIQ and social and adaptive behavior has difference, and PIQ and TIQ has no significant difference。ConclusionBased on the clinical research results mentioned above, it can be proved that Compared with lingual and cognitive training after scalp acupuncture’s retention, lingual and cognitive training with scalp acupuncture’s retention has advantage.(Jin’s three needle therapy to4-6years old MR children), especially in PIQ and TIQ. It deserves further promotion in clinical treatment.
