Objective: Ectopic pregnancy, as one of the common gynecologic acute abdomens,is not only damage the women’s health, but also produce detrimental effects to thefuture pregnancies. Especially in the recent period, yearly increase in the incidence ofectopic pregnancy was reported in the literature. We believe that ectopic pregnancy isone of the important reasons of death in the first trimester of pregnancy. And risk factorsfor ectopic pregnancy have also changed with the change of people’s living habits andlifestyles. We found that if countries and regions are not the same, then the risk factorsare not the same, too. This phenomenon indicates that some of the risk factors can bechanged by intervention. In this paper, a detailed study was conducted on patients withectopic pregnancy. The risk factors were discussed in order to provide some effectiveprecautionary approaches to females. We hope that this study can help to reduce thenumber of people suffering ectopic pregnancy.Methods:427patients whose pathologies were diagnosed as ectopic pregnancyduring January2009to November2013period when they were stayed in the hospitalwere retrospectively analyzed. The median age was30years old (from18to45).Among them, there are406patients with gestational sac growing in the fallopian tube,4patients with gestational sac growing in ovarian,8patients with cervical pregnancy,7patients with uterine horn pregnancy and2patients with cesarean scar pregnancy.Randomly selected300cases of normal pregnant women hospitalized for the sameperiod as the control group. The median age was28years old (from22to43). We do some statistical analysis with these data, using SPSS19.0. We use the mean andstandard deviation to represent the measured data such as age. The chi-square test orcontinuity-adjusted chi-square test was used to judge the correlation between the datawe collected, such as smoking history, menstrual disorders, uterine fibroids, ectopicpregnancy history and hypogastrium operation history. If P <0.05, it means that thedifferences are statistically significant. And then use the backward stepwise regressionanalysis to understand the correlation between statistically significant factors andectopic pregnancy.Results:1. Age that ectopic pregnancy occurs was mainly concentrated in20-40years old.2. Results of univariate analysis: The differences of abortion history, pelvicinflammatory disease history, hypogastrium operation history and ectopic pregnancyhistory between ectopic pregnant patients and normal pregnant patients werestatistically significant (P <0.05). The differences of the smoking history, uterinefibroids history and menstrual disorders were not statistical significant (P>0.05).3.Results of multi-factor Logistic regression analysis:(1) History of pelvicinflammatory disease, history of hypogastrium operation and history of ectopicpregnancy were all connected with ectopic pregnancy and also had play a significantrole on its occurrence. They were all risk factors that exist independently. areindependent risk factors for ectopic pregnancy.(2) History of pelvic inflammatorydisease, history of hypogastrium operation and history of ectopic pregnancy werepositively associated with the occurrence of the disease.(3) Independent risk factors forthe incidence of ectopic pregnancy in descending order are: history of pelvicinflammatory disease (OR=5.915), history of ectopic pregnancy (OR=3.470), historyof hypogastrium operation (OR=2.343).Conclusion:1. Age that ectopic pregnancy occurs was mainly concentrated in20-40years old. The female should be particularly careful if menelipsis occurs at thisstage.2. Abortion history, pelvic inflammatory disease history, hypogastrium operationhistory and ectopic pregnancy history are the risk factors for ectopic pregnancy. Historyof pelvic inflammatory disease, history of hypogastrium operation and history of ectopic pregnancy are independent risk factors for ectopic pregnancy. We can reduce therisk by paying attention to sexual health, avoiding unnecessary abortion andstandardizing pelvic surgery.
