Objectives:Discussed the differences in polysomnographic variables and complications between elderly patients and young and middle-aged patients with OSAHS, in order to improve the clinical worker’s attention in the elderly patients with OSAHS.Methods:Through retrospective study in2011-2013by our sleep monitoring center is confirmed183cases of hospitalized patients with OSAHS, according to their age into elderly group (age60or higher) and young groups (16years old<age<60years old), collect patients’ serum triglycerides(TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDLC), Glycosylated hemoglobin levels, and more detailed records the polysomnograph related data, such as respiratory disturbance index (AHI), lowest oxygen saturation (LaSO2), SLT90, SaO2min, slow wave sleep at night the percentage of the sleep cycle, and micro awakening index in the night sleeping time. At the same time record in patients with complications and medications.Results:1.Aged OSAHS group compared with the young and middle-aged OSAHS group: micro awakening index between the two groups, slow wave sleep of the sleep cycle, there was no significant difference. The aged OSAHS group of AHI, BMI, SLT90and LSaO2is lower, SaO2min is higher, and the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05).2.Compared with the young and middle-aged OSAHS group, the elderly patients with OSAHS coexist in heart, cerebrovascular complications, and type2diabetes mellitus (T2DM)was higher, and the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05).Compared with old OSAHS group, the young and middle-aged OSAHS group no obvious difference was found between serum glycosylated hemoglobin levels, TG levels more apparent, in HDLC fell more obvious, and the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05).3.Compared with the young and middle-aged OSAHS group, the elderly patients with OSAHS coexist in heart, cerebrovascular complications, and type2diabetes mellitus (T2DM)was higher, and the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05).And long-term medication of patients with senile OSAHS group was obviously higher than that of young and middle-aged OSAHS group and the difference was statistically significant (p<0.05).Conclusions:1. Compared with the young and middle-aged OSAHS group, old illness severity of OSAHS group is lighter;2.In elderly patients with OSAHS often concomitance with diverse diseases, ill cover between symptoms, should be vigilant for OSAHS may cause a series of complications.3.Because of the old patients with OSAHS group often oral multiple drug therapy for a long time, so the level of serum risk factors related to heart, cerebrovascular disease, was decreased obviously than young and middle-aged OSAHS group.
