Objective:To investigate the ratio of Sleep Apnea-Hypopnea Syndrome in residents of Qingdao and provide basic data for epidemiological survey and to study the influence of obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) on hypertension and metabolism. Methods:From June 2005 to December 2006,7030 person of 1856 families were investigated through questionnaires in urban area of Qingdao. Randomized 115 OSAHS patients and the control group of 122 healthy persons as the study objects The blood pressure in the morning, plasmas glucose (GLU), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), and uric acid (UA) were measured. There were 32 moderate or severe OSAHS patients and 20 healthy persons were selected to be measured the mitochondrial coupling factor 6 (CF6) with radio-immunity method. The results were analyzed with statistic method. The P<0.05 means the significant difference. Results:Snoring during night was found in 2979 cases among this group. The total ratio was 42.38%, and there were 237 cases were diagnosed OSAHS (149 male and 88 female). Total ratio was 3.37%. The incidence in male was higher than female. As age increasing, the proportion of OSAHS was also increasing until 60 years old. The proportion of OSAHS was increasing with the body mass index (BMI), and there was significant difference between the over-weighted persons and the normal weighted ones. The smokers were easier to be attacked by OSAHS than the non-smokers. The ratio of OSAHS in alcohol-users was higher than non-addicts, and there was significant difference. The ratio of OSAHS among the persons whose direct relatives were attacked by snoring or OSAHS was significant higher the others. With multi-factor analysis, the gender, smoking and inheritance related to OSAHS tightly. The patients'blood pressure in the morning was significantly higher than the control healthy persons. The plasmas glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, and uric acid of the OSAHS patients were all in a higher level than those of the control group healthy persons. There were significant differences between the two groups. The mitochondrial coupling factor 6 (CF6) of moderate OSAHS patients or severe OSAHS patients was more than that of the healthy person (P<0.05).Conclusion:The ratio of OSAHS is about 3.37% in urban area of Qingdao. The male inclined to be affected by OSAHS. Smoking, alcohol, and age could improve person to be attacked by OSAHS. The inheritance or genetics can promote the ratio of OSAHS. OSAHS is a potential risk factor on the cardiovascular diseases and the metabolism disorder. The mitochondrial coupling factor 6 (CF6) may play an important role in the procedure of X syndrome.
