Background The measurement of volume of left ventricular is the fundation to quantifying function of left ventricular exactly and to institute clinical decision. Real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT-3DE) x-plane and full volume became to the major instrument of measure the volume of left ventricular. Due to changes in the location of the probe, Real-time three-dimensional transesphageal echocardiography (RT3D-TEE) scanning heart internal structure closely, the effective exclusion of the lung interference, obesity, chest deformity, and narrow intercostal space impact, provides a new means of echocardiography. Objective To evaluate the accuracy of RT3D-TEE full volume and x-plane for quantifying volume of left ventricular models.Methods15diffeerent rubber bursas(include7normal LV models and8irregular LV aneurysm models) were quantified by RT-3DTEE full volume and x-plane respectively. The volume were calculated using Philips iE333DQ Advance software, which compared with2DE (measured by Simpson method) and true volume (measured by drained water). Results In the15LV models, excellent correlation coefficients and low variability were observed between the three methods and true volumes. Compared with2DE, better correlation coefficients were observed by RT3D-TEE full volume and x-plane.Conclusion Compare with2DE, RT-3DTEE full volume and x-plane can quantify Lwolumes accurately, x-plane was more rapidly, and full volume was most accurate.
