Object: To investigate the effects of treadmill exercise on angiogenesis andMT1-MMP expression after cerebral iachemiaMethods: The adult male SD rats (n=42) were randomly divided into three groups:sham operation group (Sham group), model group (MCAO group)and the exercisegroup. All rats were placed on the motor driven treadmill and trained to run over athree-day adaptation period. The rats in model and exercise group were submitted apermanent Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion(MCAO) model by modifiedZea-Longa’s method. The rats’ neurological function was evaluated by the modifiedneurologic severity scores (mNSS) at4d,7d,14d after MCAO. Respectively after4d,7d,14d decapitated by counting the number of capillaries MVD analysis of eachgroup cerebral ischemia surrounding area; and the levels of MT1-MMP were detectedby Western-bolt and immunohistochemical method. Results: Compared with MCAO group, the number of microvessel and the level ofMT1-MMP expression around the area of cerebral infarction were significantlyincreased inexercise group(P<0.05)than the exercise group MCAO.The scores ofmNSS in exercess group were significantly decreased than that of in MCAO group. Conclusions:Treadmill exercise training significantly promote angiogenesis and improveneurological function after cerebral ischemia. Its mechanism may be related toupgraduate the MT1-MMP expression ischemic rat brian microvessels surroundingarea. |
