Comparison Of Hemiarthroplasty And PFN In The Treatment Of Femoral Intertrochanteric Fracture In The Elderly Patients

Objective To compare clinical of hemiarthroplasty and PFNA for the treatmentof intertrochanteric fracture in the elderly patients Method A retrospective studywas conducted to analyze the106elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracturewho had been treated in our department from June2006to June2013.they weredivided into2groups to the treatment they have received.In the hemiarthroplastygroup（52patients）；there were30mens and22womens, with a average age of69.0土3.2years，According to the AO classification of intertrochanteric fracture,therewere25case of type A1，20case of type A2and7case of type A3，according to theAO classification, in the PFNA groups：there were33mens and21womens, with aaverage age of68.1土4.4years，there were24case of type A1，23case of type A2and7case of type A3； The2groups were compared in terms of incisionlength,intraoperalive blood loss, operationg time, ambulation time, complications andHarris score one year postoperation.Result In the hemiarthroplasty and PFNA groups,the incision length was respectively10.3±2.1cm and4.0±2.2cm, the intraoperativeblood loss respectively315.8±94.3mL and165.4±38.9ml, the ambulation timerespectively7.8±1.6days and31.5±6.8days, the intraoperative complication raterespectively11.5%(6/52)、and29.6％（16/54) and the Harris score one yearpostoperation respectively62.4±5.5points and56.4±4.7points. There weresignificant differences between the2groups in all the above items (P<0.05).Therewas no significant difference between the2groups regarding the postoperativecomplication rates11.5%(6/52) versus14.8%(8/54)(P>0.05). Conclusion Two kindsof treatment are effective for the elderly pa-tients with femoral intertrochantericfracture． We should take the patients age，body circumstance，osteoporosis，fracturetype intoaccount and choose a reasonable operation method to achieve a satisfactory clinical effect．...
