Objectives:Describe the condition of self management and Trait Coping Style ofthe hemodialysis patients,and find out the personality type which influenced thepatient’s self-management ability.Method:148hemodialysis patients were recruited in the purification center ofthe first affiliated hospital of Cranach university.Four questionnaires were used in theresearch including the demographic part filled by the researcher,Self ManagementScale designed by Song YiJun, Trait Coping Style Questionnaire(TCSQ) designed byJiang QianJin,Eysenck personality questionnaire (EPQ)designed by Eysenck.All thequestionnaires were filled by the researcher in a way of asking the questions to thepatients one by one.Results:1) The total score of self management is52.26±5.61,the average itemscores subscales were2.97for self-care ability,2.72for partnership,2.63for problemsolving,2.18for emotion management.2) The score of PC is30.83±6.02,and has nosignificant difference with the normal people (>0.05), but the score of NC is26.90±5.68,which was much higher than normal people(<0.01).3)Multiple linearregression analyses for total score and four dimensions of self-management indicatedthat PC and salary were influencing factors which could Partly explain the15.1%variance of the tall self-management ability. PC was the factor of problem solvingwhich explained11.9%variance, Age and PC were influencing factors of self-nursingwhich explain11.9%variance, the partnership factors including gender and PC,which explained9.6%. PC was the influencing factor of emotion control whichexplained7.4%.4) The scores were6.67±3.31for E,2.85±1.32for P,4.47±3.20forN,7.82±2.22for L.the scores of E,N,L were significant difference compare to normalpeople.5) Correspond analyses for personality and coping style showed that the scoreof N was influencing factor to NC and PC. E was negative related with PC.Conclusion:1) The current condition of self management in hemodialysisPatients was not ideal and the diverse dimensions had different levels, in whichself-care ability was the best, and emotion management was the worst.2)PC, age, gender and salary were the main influencing factors. PC affected the total score ofself management,self nursing,partnership, problem solving and motion control.Ageaffected self nursing,salary affected the total score of self management, genderaffected partnership.3) The patients were tend to act negatively because of theintrovert personality and unstable emotion.4) Open mind personality can lead thepositive action of the patients, and the higher of the score of the PC, the higher thepatients self management ability.
