Objective:To investigate the association about nitric oxide(NO),inducible nitric oxidesynthase(iNOS),endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS)and fetal growthrestriction(FGR).Methods:Normal group was consisted of32normal pregnancies.FGR group was consistedof32pregnancies.NO in maternal and umbilical cord serum were analyzed by nitratereductase method. The level of iNOS and eNOS in maternal serum were detected byenzyme1inked immunosorbent assay (ELISA),and localized the expression ofprotein in placental tissue by immunohistochemistry。Results:1.NO had extremely lower expression in maternal and umbilical cord serumwith FGR than normal pregnancy(P<0.05).2.The expression of iNOS and eNOS were up-regulated in maternal serumfrom FGR group compared with normal pregnancy(P<0.05).3.The expression of iNOS were up-regulated in placental tissue from FGR groupcompared with normal pregnancy(P<0.05), but eNOS no significant differences inexpression in placental tissue。Conclusions:The decreased expression of NO in maternal and umbilical cord serum mayimpact placental perfusion limited. The raised expression of iNOS and eNOS in serumand the raised expression of eNOS may cause fetal growth restriction. All thesefactors are involved in the pathogenesis of FGR.
