With the development of science and technology, and the improvement of people’sliving standard, people’sattitudes have been changed from suffering in silencewithoutproper medical care to the current active physical examination which indicates theincreasing concern about their own health. Inpatient buildings are the place wherepatients hospitalize, rehabilitate, stay, and where exists personnel complexity, greatmobility, poor air quality. There is also lack of fresh air, all these problems areremarkable even in those top three medical hospitals that represent the highest level ofChina’s medical care. To observe the flow of people and master the change rule of topthree hospitals is an important basic data for overall hospital planning, architecturaldesign, fire evacuation and hospital management, therefore, it is of great importantengineering significance to build hospital floor model.Firstly, this paper conducts a survey of hospital floor in different regions of Chinawith the integrated use of literature survey, questionnaire and field survey of hospitals.Topics coveredinclude inpatient building architectural features, management systems, personnel, human traffic characteristics, indoor environmental quality and personnelopening habit of doors and windows and of air conditioning system.Secondly, based on the hospital building’s architectural features, managementsystem, personnel structure, and the results of the investigation of the human flowcharacteristics, this paper analyzes the characteristics of inpatient buildings, theimplementation of the management systems and the system of human traffic factorsobtaining the mobility pattern of each kind of people in the hospital buildings, thecharacteristicsof hospital floor time, space and temporal coupling. And according to the survey results, this paper analyzes the factors affecting thedistribution of the number of personnel and accessibility of hospital floor nursing unitarea and the functional space. Factors include the size of the hospital location, hospitalgrade, management system and its implementation of the system, the scale of thenursing unit, occupancy and discharge rate, nursing units subordinate departments, extrabed rates, bed occupancy rate, staff room rates, escort rates, visitation rate, the numberof doctors, the layout of the nursing unit, the number of nurses, office treatment rate, accompanying rate care unit, clinic waiting time, discharge rates, hospitalization rates, with the rate of drug, medicine waiting time and so on. Then, based on the analysis of the factors affecting the number of hospital floorspace for each person and distribution analysis, factor analysis method is adopted toestablish the nursing unit traffic model and to establish, by applying the method of timeseries, the traffic model of the auxiliary function in hospital. Taking a hospital auxiliaryfunction and trauma surgery nursing unit for example, human traffic predictive value iscalculated, and predictive values were compared with the actual statistics to verify theaccuracy of the visitor flow volume model. Finally, based on the traffic model and the analysis of the indoorenvironmentalquality, opening habitofdoors, windows, and air-conditioning systems, recommended independent fresh air system, and based on the new air volumecalculation, the determination of system division, fresh air port location designingsuggestion is put forward from the aspects such as system selection.Furthermore, thispaper analyzes the operation of control strategy of the independent fresh air system.
