Objective: to investigate the effect and mechanism of vitaminD3on airwayinflammation and the expression of interleukin-17in asthmatic mice.Method:30BALB/C mice were randomly divided into3groups: control group, asthmatic group and vitamin D3-treated group. The mice of asthmatic group, vitaminD3-treated group were injected0.5ml suspension of ovalbumin (OVA)(contain0.5mlnormal saline,2mg aluminum hydroxide and OVA12.5μg) by intraperitoneal OVA toestablish the asthma model. Mice of control were injected1ml normal saline.Pathologic changes in lung tissues, the number of total cell and eosinophils inbronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were observed. The concentrations of IL-17inserum and BALF were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results:①Compared with the asthmatic group, less inflammatory cellinfiltration in lung tissues was observed in the1,25-(OH)2D3treated group, thesechanges were more significant than those in the control group.②The total BALF cellcount and eosinophil percentage were the highest in he asthmatic group, followed bythe1,25-(OH)2D3treated group and the control group (P<0.05).③The concentrationsof IL-17in serum and BALF was decreased when compared with that in asthmagroup, but it was still higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Intervention with1,25-(OH)2D3could markly suppress airwayinflammation in asthmatic mice, probably by downregulating the expression of IL-17in Th17cells.
