Malaria is a kind of popular disease due to harsh environment inthe south history, it runs through the whole history of China, hasimportant influence on the pernicious district development. For malariaresearch is a hot issues in the field of environmental history studies,academic research mainly concentrated in yunnan, guizhou, guangxi,guangdong, hunan,hubei, jiangxi, fujian and other places, and mostresearches are study from medical, social history and geography, cultureand political perspective and other different angles. The study of malariain the region of Guizhou is very limited, and their achievement isscattered, lack of systematic research. Based on this, this paper uses themethod of field investigation and literature analysis,combine thehistorical data during the Ming and qing dynasties and investigationresults, analysis the change process and the relationship between theregional economic development process and its impact on society ofguizhou.This paper mainly divided into five parts, the first part introducedthe selected reason and research significance, reviewed the academiaresearch results of malaria and the relevant concepts are defined;Thesecond part describes the southwestern provinces of malaria distributionchange and summarizes the characteristics of malaria in guizhou,compared with other southwest province, dysentery miasma of guizhou has the characteristic of poison severely, long duration and wide coverage;The third part analyzed, sorted the miasma data during the Ming and qingdynasties from time and space,it is concluded that the mainly distributedin QianXi regions, but the distribution of malaria in guizhou area of Mingand qing dynasties also has had the change, with the development of thecentral dynasty in guizhou, the distribution of malaria area is decreasing;The fourth part analyses the influence factors of malaria distribution,combined with the process of economic development during the Mingand qing dynasties in guizhou to discuss the changes of the miasma andpopulation, land reclamation and the relationship between the forestchange, it is concluded that the growth of population and landreclamation of forest vegetation coverage area is reduced, destroyed themiasma of natural environment, influence the changes of the malariadistribution area. Human’s space of living is expanding, the living spaceof miasma is getting smaller;The fifth part mainly discussed the effects ofmalaria to Guizhou from political system, social economic, military andcultural concepts during Ming and Qing dynasties. At the same time, theethnic discrimination and geographical bias problem in guizhou area.
