Objective To study the distribution of HPV subtypes in the pariotid gland tumors, andto evaluate the relationship between HPV and pariotid gland tumors. Methods Thirty-seven HPV subtypes were detected in paraffin-embedded tissues of59cases of parotid gland tumors by flow-through hybridization and gene chip(Hybrimax),20cases of normal oral mucosa were used as controls. Results HPV-positive rates of pariotid gland tumors were57.6%(34/59), The controlgroup were all negative(0/20),The diffrence was statistically significant(Ñ…~2=20.234,P<0.05);The HPV-positive rates of benign tumor and malignent tumor of pariotid gland were59.6%(31/52) and42.9%(3/7). The HPV-positive rates of two groups was no statisticallysignificant(Ñ…~2=0.189,P>0.05);The high-risk HPV(80.7%) was the most prevalent type in thegroup of parotid gland tumors, and high-risk HPV-16/18/52were mainly prevalenttypes(61.4%); Both single-HPV and multy-HPV subtype existed in the HPV-positivesamples,and most of cases(52.9%) were infected with multy-HPV subtype. Conclusions The occurrence of parotid gland tumors may be related with HPVinfection. Both high-risk HPV and low-risk HPV subtypes were identify in parotid glandtumors, High-risk HPV subtype was the main subtype in HPV-positive group, and high-riskHPV-16/18/52were mainly prevalent types.
