The Effect Of The Single-door Laminoplasty Treatment For Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy On The Motion Of Cervical Spine

Objective To reveal the effect and the significance of the single-door laminoplastytreatment for Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy on the motion of cervical spine,we measuredthe motion of the cases and campared the preoperative data with the postoperative data.Methods We collect the cases of Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy in Spine Surgery ofNingxia Medical University General Hospital from June2008to December2011.The standard ofthe cases who can enter the departments are:⑴The cases of Cervical SpondyloticMyelopathy without other complications.⑵The cases should have the single-doorlaminoplasty of cervical spine and all the cases should be treated by the same surgical group.⑶The age is from50-70years and the case’history is from3-36months.⑷Both of the caseshave the blameless X-ray and Computerized Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.72cases conform the standard,there were38males and34females and the mean age was65years(52~70years).We measured the range of motion of the cases by the rotation-tractionmanipulation(provide by Wangjing Hospital of China Academy of Traditional ChineseMedicine,the State Patent NO. is ZL200620002019) before the surgery,and after24monthsof the treatment,we reviewed the cases on a regular basis and measured the motion of thepatients. We campared and analysis the significant difference between the two sets of data.Results72cases of CSM from the department were treated by the single-doorlaminoplasty,and63cases were get followed, follow-up period was24months,there were35males and28females and the mean age was61years,9cases were lost. We reveal there aresignificant difference on the motion of the flexion\extension\left rotation\right rotation ofcervical spine(P＜0.05) and there was no significant difference on the motion of the left bending\right bending of cervical spine（P＞0.05）between the two groups by the statistics.Conclusions The flexion\extension\left rotation\right rotation of cervical spine aftertreatment is lower than pretherapy clearly,and there is no significant difference on the motionof the left bending\right bending of cervical spine between the two groups.
