Physiological Response Of Two Kinds Of Sedum L. Under Gray Water Stress And Their Applications In Landscape

With advantages of low pollution,great emissions and easy process,gray water is known as one of the most potential life drainage in renewable water and an effective way to solve problems of pollution and water-saving in landscape.The experimental materials in this article were based on Sedum lineare,Sedum spectabile,and washing powder(type A gray water), soap(type B gray water),the main point of this paper was to test the growth and external morphology,the leaf water saturation deficit and relative water content, plasma membrane relative permeability, chlorophyll relative content and chlorophyll fluorescence kinetics parameters changes of Sedum lineare and Sedum spectabileunder under different gray water stress treatment in 60 days.The experimental results show that:(1)On the index of external morphological characteristics:Under the stress of two different gray water, both of this two Sedum L. grew normally,the statue of Sedum lineare relatively got better,their height and leaves preceded the control group with no significant,in addition,compared to Sedum spectabileunder, Sedum lineare became more outstanding.(2)On the index of natural saturation deficit:Whether two different kinds of gray water stress group or control group, the RWD value of Sedum lineare remained stable, the RWD value of type B gray water group almost the same with the control group although it has significant difference;complementary,the RWD value of Sedum spectabile fluctuated relatively large between 89.453 and 95.157,it’s value remained the same level with the control group in each stage, and significant differences were detected at the end of the experiment.(3)On the index of plasma membrane relative permeability:The conductivity value of Sedum lineare decreased under two kinds of gray water stress, it’s value fallen from 23.293 at the beginning of test to 9.253 at the end of the test with a decline of 60%, the value fluctuated slightly during the test,indicating that Sedum lineare gradually developed resistance with time, and the extent of damage of cell membrane declined at the same time; the conductivity value of Sedum spectabile was higher than the control group under both gray water stress, and has a similar law with Sedum lineare, but the floating scope was small during the test,didn’t achieve to the level of significant difference at end of the experiment.(4)On the index of chlorophyll relative content:Under type A gray water stress, the overall trend of chlorophyll content of Sedum lineare was basically stable with no significant difference compare with the control group, Sedum spectabile showed a greater range of fluctuation in the first half of the test,and become relatively stable at the end of experiment; the value of chlorophyll content of these two kinds of Sedum L. plants were slightly down, its value was a little lower than the control group with significant differences.(5)On the index of chlorophyll fluorescence kinetics parameters:The Fv/ Fm value and Fv’/Fm’value of two kinds of Sedum L. plants both appeared upward trend under different kinds of gray water, they all fluctuated within a small range during the test, compared with the control group, these two kinds of value of Sedum lineare had no significant difference at the end of the test, the Fv ’/Fm’ value of Sedum spectabile reached the level of significant difference; the qP value of two kinds of Sedum L. plants both showed a downward trend with significant difference under gray water stress, but their values were higher than the control group; the changes of qN value of Sedum lineare and Sedum spectabile was opposite to their qP value, both overall increased gradually, the former has a small scale fluctuations, the latter floated in a large range; both gray water stress, the ETR value of Sedum lineare and Sedum spectabile emerged significant difference under two kinds of gray water, but their values were significantly higher than the control group,the overall value of Sedum spectabile increased largely, and the ETR value of Sedum lineare was opposite with it.(6)In summary:These two kinds of Sedum L. plants can adapt to the gray water,moreover,they kept favorable condition during the whole experiment.
