Grape is one of the most widely cultivated fruits in our country. In the process of its growth,light, temperature and water are all important factors. As the main region of grape growing is the northwest region, the problem of drought and low temperature is often faced. Lack of water or low temperature will reduce the grape production, quality deterioration and even tree death, thus seriously restricting the development of the grape industry. In recent years, in addition to utilizing the cultivation facilities and cultivation techniques to solve the problem of drought and low temperature, more and more attention has been paid to the breeding of resistant rootstock, which is a fundamental way to reduce the adversity damage to grape.In this study, we determined the relative water content, relative conductivity, chlorophyll content, proline(Pro) and malondialdehyde(MDA) of one-year old potted plant of 22 grape rootstockvarieties or hybrids during different drought stress times, evaluating the drought-tolerance level with Subordinative function. Besides, a cold-hardiness analysis of one-year old grapevine branches of 25 grape rootstock varieties or hybrids were identified based on the relative conductivity, proline(Pro), MDA, soluble protein and soluble sugars under appropriate freezing treatments(-24℃) of one-year old branches in winter, we also make a comprehensive evaluation of the cold-hardiness level with Subordinative function. The main results was showed as follows:1、 According to the results of five indicators on 18 d, the drought-tolerance level of tested materials can be divided into three types: the control Yanshan-1 and variety Kangzhen 3 belong to High resistance; 225 Ru, 110 R, 101-14, 5C, V. riparia Mcadams, 6-12-1 and 6-12-4 belong to Middle resistance; 1103 P, 188-08, 00-1-5, 00-1-10, Beta, Dogridge, 3309, 5BB, 1-1-6, 6-12-6, SO4,Beichun and non-drought-resistance control V. Riparia(♀) belong to Low resistance.2、 After the appropriate freezing treatments(-24℃) of these one-year old grape branches,we determined five physiological Indexes and make a comprehensive evaluation. The cold-hardiness level of tested materials can be divided into five types: Beta, Zuoshan 75097,Yanshan-1, 101-14, 5A, 3309 belong to High resistance; 5BB, 188-08, Heshan-1, V. Riparia, 110 R,1103P, belng to Middle resistance; 6-12-4, 6-12-1, 6-12-6 belong to Low resistance; Salt Creek and Red Globe belong to Susceptible.3、 In conclusion, 110 R, 101-14, 225 Ru, Kangzhen 3 are considered having a betterdrought-resistance and cold-resistance character, which can be used as rootstocks in cold and arid areas.
