As a famous local goat breed in Hunan province, Black goat plays an important role in animal husbandry in the province. Lamb diarrhoea is a major disease hurting goat industry, often resulting decrease in lambs’survival rates and decline of productive performance, which seriously damage economic benefits of lamb industry and hurt farmers’enthusiasm. Lamb diarrhoea can be caused by many factors, such as climate, feeding and management, bacteria, viruses and mycotoxins, etc. In all of the above factors, bacterial diarrhoea is the most common. In order to find the main pathogenic bacteria of lambs’diarrhoea and study the provention and treatment effect of Zhuliao powder on the lambs’bacteria, diarrhoea lambs’dungs were collected as samples to culture the pathogenic bacteria and then to be identified with PCR. At the same time, extractive temperature, extractive time and the amount of solvent regarded as parameters,3-factor-and-3-level orthogonal experimental design was conducted, to study the best extractive process parameters of Zhuliao powder. Then the extraction of Zhuliao powder was used in the antibacterial test in vitro with the pathogenic bacteria to determine the Inhibitive zone diameter, MIC, ICso and MBC. Finally, clinical test was conducted with artificially infected dirrhoea lambs. The results showed that: the pathogenic bacteria of lamb diarrhoea included 3 serotypes of pathogenic Escherichia coli and 3 serotypes of Salmonella; the best extractive process parameters of Zhuliao powder were:80℃(extractive temperature),10 times(amount of solvent) and 45min(extractive time); the Inhibitive zone diameter of Zhuliao powder were:10.18mm(Escherichia coli O111:K59), 10.25mm(Escherichia coli O127:K63),10.25mm(Escherichia coli O44:K74), 12.48mm(Salmonella O4),12.47mm(Salmonella O15),12.25mm(Salmonella O10), MIC to all of the pathogenic bacteria were 125mg/mL, and IC50 were 15.625mg/mL; MBC to 3 kinds of salmonella were 500mg/mL, and that to 3 kinds of Escherichia coli were 1000mg/mL. Compared with the control group, the diarrhea rate of trial groups’lambs decreased 33%, the total effective rate to artificially infected diarrhoea lambs was 100%, and the cure rate was 100% as well. It prompted that:Zhuliao powder has good antibacterial effect in vitro and good proventional and treatmental effect on bacterial diarrhoea lambs, and can be expected to play an important role in prevention and treatment of lambs’bacterial diarrhoea.
