Construction And Application Of New Combined Evaluation Index System Of Popcorn

Screening and evaluation of new combinations was a important link during the new variety breeding of popcorn. In order to screening the excellent combination, construction of evaluation index system of screening is necessary. The paper is on the basis of summarizing the experience of some breeder and the characteristic of the breed. According to the national standard recommended approval of varieties, supplemented with WB1401 、WB1402、WB1403、WB1404 and other test materials in the field of planting, through the investigation、record and analysis of yield、quality、resistance and agronomic traits of these combinations or varieties. Finally, the evaluation index system of the new combination of popcorn was constructed. The index system consists of 4 first grade indexes, 17 second grade indexes and 17 third grade indexes. Detail as follow:First grade index: grain yield≥250kg/667m2, strong resistance, good agronomic traits, good quality.Second grade index: the proper plant height, ear height(80cm-120cm), the rate of ear height and plant height ≤0.5 level, empty bar was 0, the higher double spike rate, lodging rate ≤10%, strong disease-resistance, commodity quality, processing quality and good palatability.Third grade index: the national incidence of hand smut ≤ 3%, tumor smut natural incidence ≤3%, high resistance to borer leaf spot incidence ≤0.5grade level, Pearl grain bald long ≤1cm, puffed rice type is mushroom or butterfly. Fragrance score≥6.0, fragile score ≥6.2, viscosity point≤5.6, hand heart ≤5.6, degree of melts easily point ≥6.3, popping multiple ≥25, popcorn rate ≥95%, filling rate and dehydration rate are faster, ear full of neatMaking use of the above index system is evaluation of 21 combinations of the research team, screening out the better corn combinations, as these combinations: WB1403、WB1407、WB1101.
