The habitat of rare and economic fishes (Pseudobagrus ussuriensis) were investigated in Qin River area. The results show that:seven phyla phytoplankton survey were detected 46 genera (species) in this area, the largest Bacillariophyta,18 genera (species), Chlorophyta take second place, there are 13 genera (species), Zoobenthics were detected 3 phyla,5 classes,12 species. The 17 kinds of large aquatic plants were collected in this survey.Comparison of the wild P. ussuriensis populations from Qin River of Shanxi Province and Heilongjiang River, the reared population sampled from breeding cages in Fuyuan county area. The morphological differences among the three groups were compared through analysis of variance, cluster analysis and discriminant analysis. Moreover, the identification of wild population from Shanxi Qin River by morphology and molecular biology. The results showed that:(1)Whatever the morphologic analysis of the fifteen indices and other classified traits or the nucleotide sequences of CO I, Cytb gene and D-Loop region of mitochondrial DNA aligned, the results confirmed that the sample fish from Qin River in Shanxi province is P. ussuriensis. (2) Analysis of variance for morphologic differences among the three populations showed that wild P. ussuriensis from Qin River had significant morphologic difference compared with Heilongjiang wild and farmed populations, especially the index of eye diameter/head length even reached subspecies differentiation; (3) Cluster analysis showed that the wild population from Qin River was divided into a separate branch, Heilongjiang wild and reared populations were clustered in another branch; (4) Selecting four indices with greater discrimination contribution and establishing discriminant function of the three groups for identificating P. ussuriensis from Qin River of Shanxi province, the accurate rate was up to 84.6%. Stepwise discriminant analysis showed that the central distance was farer between the population of the wild P. ussuriensis in Qin River and the two populations of Heilongjiang River, and the distribution of the measured values of the fish in Qin River were dispersed out of the distribution area of the two populations. The artificial breeding using the wild P. ussuriensis which came from Qi River. The ratio of female and male is about 4:1, using the mixture of LRH-A and DOM as spawning induction hormone with the twice injection method. Mature coefficient is higher, from 13.69 to 20.80, but the spawning rate and fertilization rate is unsatisfactory. Perhaps the main cause is the difference among geographic populations, it is possible that the field of simulation due to insufficiency of incubation conditions.
