Investigation And Analysis On The Application Of Indoor Potted Flowers In Tai’an

With the development of social economy, our living environment has been urbanized since 21st century. People has been away from the nature for a long time. Therefore, they begin to yearn for the nature and house plant become their favorite, which can create the natural scenery for us in a private space and make us get close to the nature in our stressful life and work. House plants have been more and more acceptable and are being used a great deal in various public places and living environments, especially in the new buildings, lury hotel, banks, commercial buildings, office buildings, stations and houses where potted plants become a kind of necessary decoration. In order to know about types, growth condition and application form of potted plants in Tai’an, the writer did a survey on flower market, plant nursery and large public places by taking pictures, searching information and consulting some teachers and made a detailed analysis on their condition. At the same time, the writer put forward her own point of views as follows:1. By making a survey, the writer found that there are 121 types of plants used as potted plants in Tai’an City, belonging to 91 genera and 42 families, such as arum family, lily family, cactus family, orpine family, palmae and arrowroot family etc. Of all these potted plants, indoor foliage plants account for 68.6%, flowering plants 13.4%, the rest 18%. What’s more, there are 20 types indoor potted plants used for decoration broadly, such as Epipremnum aureum, Chlorophytum, Schefflera octophylla(Lour.)Harms, Pachira macrocarpa,Christmas tree,Balata,Jasper,Dracaenasanderiana,Dracaenaangustifolia,Pritchardiagaudichaudii,Cycasre volute Thunb,Opuntia stricta(Haw.)Haw.var.dillenii(ker-Gawl.)Benson and multicapacity process,Spathiphyllum kochii, Anthurium andraeanum, Bromeliads, Dracaena deremensis ’Compacta, Radermachera sinica (Hance) Hemsl, Zamioculcas zamiifolia, Philodendron erubescens cv.green emerald,Chrysalidocarpus lutescens etc. The plants are well adapted, easy to cultivate and they have a great variety of breeds. Based on the advantages, the writer thinks that it is important to improve the level of cultivation and develop new breeds from the families.2. Tai’an has a large proportion of shade tolerant plants,which account for 57.9%. However, most of the potted plants are tender plants, accounting for 55.4%.3. The survey turns out that 63.9%. of potted plants in Tai’an are able to grow normally, of which the sick account for 19.9%. The reason is that the lack of professional management results in disease of indoor plants.4. The family with the decoration of pot plants accounts for 78.1%,the popularity of potted flowers in Tai’an city residents is relatively high, The residents who have pot plants are willing to buy more while people who don’t have tend to buy plants. It shows that the market has great potential.5. The preference of Tai’an citizen is different from the real result,but the basic trend keeps the same. Most citizens like foliage plants. However, more and more people buy fruit pot plants and succulent plants.6. Citizens in Tai’an mainly buy plants from roadside vendors. In most cases, they buy plants at the road side. Sometimes, they purchase exotic breed in the flower store and market. Buying the pot plant on the Internet is on the rise.7. There are still a lot of problems about the potted flowers. The writer put forward a series of strategies as follows:(1) develop the local species; (2)grow plants easy to survive; (3)support some institutions; (4)strengthen the design and application of houseplant; (5) to develop the rent business of flower; (6) to promote both substantial and edible indoor potted plants; (7) to develop in the direction of soilless cultivation, hydroponic cultivation ways.
