The studies were conducted to determine the effects of row spacing, nitrogen (N), phosphor (P), potassium (K) and plant growth regulators on seed yields and yield components of Chicory in Xichang, Liangshan Prefecture. The results indicated that:1. Row spacing significantly affected seeds yield per plant (P<0.01) and flowers per plant (P<0.05), for the first grade branch, seeds per flower and 1000-grain weight is not (P>0.05); N significant effects seeds yield per plant, flowers per plant and 1000-grain weight (P<0.01), for the first grade branch and seeds per flower is not (P>0.05); P significantly affected flowers per plant (P<0.01) and seed yield per plant (P<0.05), for the first grade branch, seeds per flower and 1000-grain weight is not (P>0.05);K significant effects seed yield per plant (P<0.01) and flowers per plant and seeds per flower (P<0.05), for the first grade branch and 1000-grain weight is not (P>0.05);the coupling effects of row spacing and K significantly affected first grade branch (P<0.05),the coupling effects of N and P significantly affected flowers per plant (P<0.05),the coupling effects of row spacing and N, row spacing and P significantly affected seeds yield per plant (P<0.01) and 1000-grain weight (P<0.05).2. Comprehensive consideration, the cultivation techniques for higher seed yield of chicory are row spacing 55-60 cm, N 90-120 kg/hm2, P 65-75 kg/hm2, K 65-75 kg/hm2. A mathematical regression model for higher seed yield was established 7=19.423+ 5.159X1+1.238X2+0.685X3+0.936X4-1.038X;2-1.161X22-0.521X32-0.555X42+ 1.162X,X2+0.831X,X3+3.033XiX4-0.65OX2X3-0.917X3X43. Paclobutrazol (PP333) had a significant effect on seed yield and yield components of chicory (P<0.05),chlormequat chloride (CCC) had no significant effect on seed yield and yield components (P>0.05), ethephon (ETH) had a significant effect on first grade branch and seeds per plant (P<0.05),for flowers per plant, seeds per plant and 1000-grian weight did not (P>0.05)...
