As one of China’s three major cotton product areas,Xinjiang has become China’s largest nationalcommodity cotton base and most importantly quality cotton producing areas. However, due to cost reasons,cotton bolls failed to open mostly abandoned,especially the cotton bolls which are mechanized harvesteddiscarded waste is very serious. This paper analyzes the case of the cotton boll harvest machinery at homeand abroad.By learning the foreign mature mechanical harvesting experience, considering thecharacteristics of cotton cropping patterns in Xinjiang,designed bomb tooth type cotton bolls pickingdevice, and picking device kinematics and dynamics simulation analysis.By the picking test, the optimalcombination of structural parameters and motion parameters of the picking device are got. The maincontents are as follows:(1) The physical and mechanical properties of bolls were measured.Field measurements of cotton bolls cropping pattern and shape, diameter, quality, moisture contentand other characteristics; measured the connecting force between boll stalk and stalks and connecting forcebetween boll and stalk by electronic universal testing machine; measured restitution coefficient bolls staticcoefficient of friction, rolling friction coefficient, bolls elastic modulus by test.(2) bolls picking device for the state and non-working state stress analysis carried out in both cases,the simulation analysis later picking device provides mechanical basis; measurement data obtained inaccordance with Chapter II of the key components such as picking equipment rack, roller, spring-tooth,bridge, hydraulic cylinders, transmission structural design.(3) Spring tooths and cotton bolls’ picking collision course are simulated by Adams kinematicssimulation software,the impact force and connecting force between bolls and stalk increase with the drumspeed increases,the reasonable speed of roller is from 150r/min to 230r/min.Get the maximum stress is52.11 MPa and the maximum displacement is 0.998 mm under the condition of bending by finite elementanalysis software ANSYS,the maximum stress is 102.5MPa and the maximum displacement is 3.14 mmunder the condition of limit reverse, the design requirements are met.the maximum stress is 105 MPa andthe maximum displacement is 1.58 mm of spring tooth when the machine working.Trajectory and speed ofmovement in the size of the change of any one of cotton bolls when the machine working are got by EDEMsimulation.(4) By single factor test to determine the optimum parameters of bolls picking device, and throughrange analysis and variance analysis of orthogonal experiment to get picking device structure parametersand motion parameters of the optimal combination, namely: when Tine spacing of 50 mm, picking devicefeed rate of 1.5m / s, the speed of the drum unit for mining the net rate when picking 200 r / min to reach amaximum of 94.78%, impurity rate of 7.54% to a minimum.
