Abstract/Summary:
This experiment was conducted to study the effect of dihydromyricetin(DMY)on the growth promoting effect of chickens and provide a reference basis for reasonable utilization of Ampelopsis grossedentata resource. 120 healthy chickens(40days old) were selected and divided into 5 treatments for 70 days. Each treatment contained 3 replicates with 8 chickens per replicate. All the chickens were fed the same basal diet, treatments groups Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ received basal diets supplemented with 0.025%, 0.05% and 0.1% DMY, chickens in groups Ⅳ received basal diets supplemented with 50 mg/kg chlortetracycline, the control group received only the basal diet. The other feeding and management measures were the same. After the test of feeding, two chickens with similar weight were selected from each replicate for slaughter test after numbered. The related parameters were determined, analyzed its effect on the growth promoting of broiler chickens. The results were as follows:Supplementation of chlortetracycline or 0.05% DMY could significantly increase daily gain of chickens and reduce the ratio of feed and meat with no significant difference. The breast rate of all the test group were increased respectively 5.43%、19.88%、10.05% and 19.00%, and the stomach index were decreased respectively14.69% 、 29.15% 、 14.69% and 20.14%. The cooked meat rate and pH had no significant difference among each test group, but the shear force and drip loss of breast muscle were significantly decreased. The GPT activity of each group were decreased respectively 8.98%、10.20%、14.29% and 10.20%, the GOT activity of each group were decreased respectively 7.09% 、 15.78% 、 11.06% and 11.06%, serumlysozyme activity were increased respectively 14.60%、35.03%、26.37% and 37.76%.Different doses of DMY could significantly reduce the content of MDA in serum of chickens, and the SOD enzyme activity of each test group had no significant difference. The small intestine protease activity were increased by 65.34%、70.75%、31.98% and 51.65% compared with the control group, and the intestinal amylase activity was also improved. The results indicated that: DMY can enhance the growth performance of broiler chickens and reduce the consumption of feed. DMY can improve the slaughter performance and pectoral muscle quality of broiler chickens in a certain extent, accelerate the immune organs mature and affect the growth of digestive organs. DMY can make the ability of liver protein synthesis been enhanced, and protect the lipid peroxide effect to a certain extent. DMY can improve the intestinal digestion and absorption capacity, increase the use of feed rate, conducive to the promotion of growth and development. DMY can be used as a substitute for antibiotics to a certain extent, reduce antibiotic use in chicken feed, so as to ensure the safety of food.
